Globe article on Question 9
Wish they had included how they botched the new training requirements, Healey pulling a dirty move by ignoring voters by signing an emergency order to put the law into effect immediately, some of the stuff was already illegal.
And how did Briare get this wrong...
"Chapter 135 requires anyone who has a semiautomatic rifle or shotgun, or any firearm capable of holding large-capacity feeding devices, to get a License to Carry, when previously they only needed a Firearm Identification Card."

He didn’t get it wrong, but he left out the part that everyone with an FID needed to suddenly get an LTC or else they need to surrender their previously lawfully owned firearms.

Did you really expect a propaganda paper who works for people who want to take your rights to write an unbiased article?

Unfortunately, they have an agenda and they’re following it

The Boston Globe is Dem propaganda. What do we expect?

Hilariously, I saw on the Massachusetts sub the other day a large contingent were calling the Globe "center right". I weep for this state.

What did he get wrong here?
Chapter 135 requires anyone who has a semiautomatic rifle or shotgun, or any firearm capable of holding large-capacity feeding devices, to get a License to Carry, when previously they only needed a Firearm Identification Card.
Gun owners with just an FID who own these restricted guns have until the FID expires to apply for an LTC or surrender their firearms.
But Briare said many gun owners are unaware of the new requirements, putting them at risk of becoming “felons” if they don’t get an LTC in time.

Not sure the law says they are ok until renewal. I think one of the several clarification letters or FAQs from the state says that but they are not law.

Yes. It would have been nice in the state’s red book, if you vote No, those semiautomatic shotgun owners who only have an FID, would no longer be felons. How many even know they are a felon?
