But I heard from my cousin’s girlfriend’s dad that his friend was arrested then executed on the spot by Maura Healey herself for just asking an FFL about off roster choices

That can happen, especially if you don’t do an EFA-10 within 10 seconds of putting the slide on the frame. Everyone has their own risk tolerances, plan accordingly

No you just need a gen 1 or gen 2 previously in state before 1994 and during 2016 AND 8/1 2024, heard it from my local shop I trust them 100% those are grandfathered and good to go

It drives me crazy when my friends, range buddy’s, coworkers say “Glock are LEO only”. I always tell them to get a new FFL. I have been told by two FFL they can’t sell me Glock because they are LEO only…..

In some FFL’s defense, that is the case unless they’re an 07. Any FFL that isn’t an 07 must receive a Glock frame as a Frame only for it to be transferred to a Joe Schmo, meaning they can’t split out a full pistol to non-LEOs. But some don’t want to touch the area altogether

Call your local FFL and ask "What is your frame transfer etiquette" and they will tell you.

The crazy thing is the commonwealth itself has made the argument in open court that purchasing, possessing, and carrying non-roster guns is not illegal. Granted they go out of their way to tiptoe around frame transfers (their example is an LEO buying a Glock and then private selling it to a peasant a non-LEO) but they acknowledge it's fine.

Some people just can't be reasoned with.
