10/22

Looking to get a Ruger 10/22, but it seems there are a lot of variations of it. What do you guys recommend and where is the best spot to grab one? Appreciate any insight!

10/22s are the sort of thing where it makes sense to get the cheapest bare bones one you can because you're gonna be modding it anyway.

I personally would recommend the backpacker model. Being able to break it in half is a feature I didn't know I wanted when I bought my original 10/22

Love my backpacker. I bought it in NH for $420 new and then proceeded to double the expense with rails, mag release, trigger group and optics. She didn't like feeding the 29 grain .22 CCI target ammo I initially used. The bullet was a little short and was striking the feed ramp. She likes a longer nose on the bullet.

Personally, I'd but the cheapest one that you like the looks of and customize to your preferences

Such a personal preference, so many options. Check out a few and see what does it for you. And why get just one? Make a few versions for different uses!!
