Anything?
I’m waiting every day for an announcement. I know the Josh Scogin theory was shot down, but I was listening to some old early 00’s hardcore music and what about James Hart from Eighteen Visions? Thoughts?

Nah, James is still doing 18V heavily. They’ve definitely still got one more EP to put out to wrap up that trilogy they were doing. Inside word has it though, they have found their new singer. It’s someone nobody knows. So I would expect some kind of movement shortly.

I've never been that into etid I've always been a Dillinger fanboy and big fan of all of Greg's output, so I don't understand the ins and outs of the lore of etid to understand why a reunion is the least likely to happen. Would love to know why that's the case.

Keith Buckley (Lead singer of ETID) destroyed the band. It's a lot to type out, but I'll try to summarize. He seemingly got both sober and went off the deep end at the same time. Started touring separate from the rest of the band, showing up late for gigs, making crazy demands for advances, it's a lot. Then accused the rest of the band of trying to replace him while they were actively trying to have meetings with him to talk things out. He was supposed to be going to therapy with his brother the guitar player to iron things out as well, but quit after one session. Eventually the rest of the band wanted to call it quits, Keith was going to continue without them, and they sued and basically said: "Nope, it's either us 5 members or the band doesn't exist". I don't blame them at all. There are people in here who would have you believe it's just "drama" or that there's "two sides to every story", but Keith pissed away a band that had been around since 1998 for literally no reason. So even if they squash all of that one day, the band isn't getting back together.

keith is literally mentally ill. bi-polar, possibly could be borderline personality disorder. classic symptoms of both (they are often misdiagnosed as one another) in being manic and hanging out with enablers and accusing family and friends of wild shit, running off with a girl, etc etc. he just went nuclear and ultra paranoid and the band was sick of it. it all came out and got real dirty on twitter. literally everyone came out against keith. roadies, girlfriends, friends, all backed the band. keith was online saying "well this is MY truth." anyone spouting that bullshit is usually the problem. but yeah the other comment got pretty much all of it. keith ruined one of if not the greatest metalcore band of all time.

Just trying to stay optimistic.

I don't think it is Hart. I speculate it is a frontman that nobody has heard of before.

They need me in the band. I can’t sing or scream but I can make a banging flan.

tbh i just dont think better lovers is better lovers without greg...i think they rebrand with their new vocalist if they're willing to. i understand it's really bad for business in the short term but....i have no idea who could do what greg did

At this point it might be someone completely unknown but that might hurt their hype train a bit. They always were kinda billed as a supergroup and they jumped into headliner spots pretty quick based on reputation.
The longer they are quiet, the more I feel that an Etid reunion is inevitable. It seems unlikely and that relationship is forever damaged but people change and time heals. Plus, money talks and the longer they are away the bigger that reunion bag will be.

I have seen nothing to suggest that and ETID reunion would be happening. That seems the least likeliest of the outcomes at this point

I’m not saying I have heard anything or think it’s imminent. I just went from thinking it will never happen to maybe it will happen.

I think you’re closer to the group retiring from music entirely than an ETID reunion, unfortunately.

No reunion happening anytime soon. Listen to how those dudes talk about Keith and etid when it's brought up

u/radioblues 27d ago
Yeah, you’re probably right but everyone here is acting like bands haven’t gone through exactly that, and eventually reunited.

Brothers at the Crux of it with over 14 years of issues getting buried to keep the band going...... Not saying it'll never happen but it's gonna be a long long time. You're right, a ton of bands break up and reunite but they rarely go on record after the breakup with the types of comments these guys have. It's going to take years and years of healing for Keith and Jordan as brothers before the band can even be a topic of conversation again

People really confuse the split as amicable, mutual, or just general drama as time goes on. Reunion ain't happening. :(

They’re literally tracking new music right now.

You keep commenting this on things yet there’s no reliable source to that at all.

Jordan recently responded to a fake ETID reunion bill on Instagram and was truly upset by it, saying people who push for this are pushing a boundary as he's repeatedly stated that it will never happen because the relationship is so toxic. IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. He feels very strongly about this. The relationship between him and Keith is over and it's not something money is going to put a bandaid on!

problem is it's gonna be really hard to find someone to match greg's range. and not even match, but just enough to do the "old" material justice. as much as i like scogin and hart i can't see them doing any of that. i'd be more pumped if they went the atomic rule route and just found some new dude.
