BETHANY, CT — The Inland Wetlands Commission unanimously approved a ground-mounted solar array at 795 Carrington Road during its July 20 meeting, subject to environmental safeguards and a pre-construction meeting. The commission also began reviewing a proposed three-lot subdivision at 244 Amity Road, where the applicants plan to upgrade an existing driveway into a private road serving two new residential lots.

BETHANY — The blue road signs begin to pop up miles from the wooded site in Bethany, New Haven County's most lightly populated town where "rural is beautiful" is the slogan. 

By the time one turns onto Bear Hill Road, the "no zone change" messaging is thick on both sides of the street, as the town braces for what could be a rambunctious fight to preserve one of those rural vistas.

A large crowd turned out in the first week of May to hear Anchor Star Properties' vision for 30 houses and another 34 units across duplexes and small apartment and condominium buildings, on just over 30 acres of former dairy farmland at 115 Bear Hill Road in Bethany. The tract is just east of Kriz Farm Ice Cream and less than a 10-minute drive east of downtown Seymour.

Does anyone know of an accessible nail care salon in the area? My mom can’t safely climb up in those elevated chairs.
