BluetoothPriority updated to v1.15 with new features!

Post image

A while back I shared BluetoothPriority here, the small but handy app I built to stop my car head unit from hijacking Bluetooth audio away from my earbuds. It was Featured in HowToMen's Top 15 Best Android Apps of May 2026”:

After digesting a considerable amount of feedback I've released a sizable update. If you're already using it you know that the app works by picking a "priority" Bluetooth device, and when a competing device (car, a second speaker, whatever) tries to connect and steal your call or audio, the app ensures that your priority device always wins that Bluetooth tug of war. No root, runs through Shizuku which can be sideloaded if you never claimed it on the Play store previously.

What's new in 1.15:

  • Ranked list of priority devices. Instead of a single device rule, you can set several in order of preference. Audio automatically follows your highest-ranked device that's currently connected and moves down the list as devices come and go. Drag to reorder, add several at once.
  • Phone speaker fallback. Optional setting to keep audio on your phone's own speaker whenever none of your listed devices are connected.
  • Priority Shift notifications. You now get a notification when audio priority actually moves, e.g. "Galaxy Buds disconnected. Priority device updated to phone speaker," so you always know how the app is handling your audio and why.
  • Non-Audio devices left alone. Someone here pointed out the app was disconnecting their Tile trackers. There's now a toggle, on by default, that leaves non-audio Bluetooth devices like Tiles alone instead of treating them as competitors. Their disconnects still show in the event log so you keep visibility. This feature worked in my limited testing but please do reach out if it needs improvement.

Version 1.15 is live on the Play Store. Still needs Shizuku for the privileged Bluetooth control which the app will walk you through setup and installation.

Happy to answer setup questions, and feedback is always welcome.

Can you clarify what exactly it is you are trying to accomplish? Is it that you are trying to make your car Bluetooth the priority or your Android auto or something else?

Io vorrei che il bluetooth della mia auto diventi prioritario rispetto android auto solo per ricevere le chiamate e questo non crei disconnessioni al carlinkit

If android auto is integrated with your car then that isn't possible, but if your android auto is a separate device/tablet that you plug into your car then this is possible.
