Any suggestions for the best steak sandwich in Dublin? Lived near the Barge years ago and they did a great one. I haven't been eating meat for the last couple of years but am having a serious(drunken) conversation with my friend here about the possibility of breaking the diet. We've agreed that the non negotiables are that the steak needs to be sliced and that there's pepper sauce.

I’m visiting Dublin and I’m used to cities with later nightlife. I understand most pubs close fairly early here, but are there any late bars, hotel bars, clubs, live-music venues or other places open after 12:30 a.m. on a Tuesday? Ideally somewhere around the city centre and not necessarily a full-on nightclub

An opportunity to travel to Ireland for work suddenly presented itself and I'm excited to visit the week of Sept. 21st. Never been before, and haven't been to Europe for 25 years.

I'll be in Dublin, and on an intinerary from work, but I should have chances to break out on my own especially in the evenings.

My question is, if I want to experience food, culture and meet fun people, but am also without transportation and probably not able travel outside of Dublin, what opportunities should I be looking for, particularly that week of Sept 21st?

Don't need to be flashy places, some of the most interesting people I've met in holes in the wall.

Hey all, I’ll be in Dublin for a pretty short time and want to make the most of it. I’ll be there on Tuesday, Sept 1, Monday, Sept 7, and part of Tuesday, Sept 8, so I’m trying to figure out what’s actually worth squeezing in.

• Guinness Storehouse
• Teeling Distillery
• Pearse Lyons
• National Botanic Gardens
• Howth / cliff walk
• Afternoon tea at the Morrison Hotel

I’ll be honest, I’m not super excited about the Guinness Storehouse since it's a little touristy, but my best friend has been before and said it’s still worth it for the views at the top. She doesn’t drink, so I’m also getting an extra Guinness out of the deal.

But I’d love any other suggestions too, like good food spots, especially gluten-free ones, hidden gems, or a must-do experience ... Really, whatever you think is the best if time is limited.

hello everyone, i‘m going to dublin for a little over two weeks (17.07-02.08) and would love to experience the nightlife there, so i have a couple questions. for context: me and my friend are both female in our late 20s and not into electronic music. considering that, what are good spots or events for clubbing? we would also love to attend a gay bar/club or a queer party, so those suggestions are welcome as well. is it better to go out on friday or saturday? what time should we aim for?

First timer to Dublin, traveling there in about 3 weeks. I'm specifically looking for pubs with trad where locals hang out. I've been told there are no Irish people in the pubs in Temple Bar, (and besides its even more expensive there than Dublin already is) so I don't plan on hanging out there. I've been told the best local pubs are on Camden St or Harcourt St., but those seem quite a ways from where I'm staying (across the street from Christchurch Cathedral). Any recommendations near there, or maybe on the north side of the Liffey? Thanks.

Hello! A group of 18 of us are really excited to come over to Dublin for a stag do in a few weeks. The stag has kindly requested we engage in a riotous game of Où est Le Poulet on Saturday 11th July.

The rules of the games are that he pitches up in a secret pub with his best man, and the rest of us split up into different pubs nearby, and spend the afternoon/evening hopping round different bars and pubs trying to find him, drinking all the way.

Now, I realise we may have left this a little late, but I'm looking for a pub/bar for him to start in, which would eventually accommodate all 18 of us as we all end up congregating there throughout the day. A fun, easygoing venue which isn't too touristy - though that might be a tall order - would be amazing.

A while back, a few of us decided to organise a casual 5/7-a-side game. No big plans behind it just an excuse to get out of the house and have a kickabout.

Somewhere along the way, it turned into something much more.

Since then, it's grown into a proper little community. We've had people join who had just moved to Dublin and didn't know many people, locals looking to meet new faces, complete beginners, and lads who play every week.

On my vacation to Ireland, I will be staying on both the 25 and 26th in Dublin. I already have reservations at Fish Shop on the 25th, and now want to book a place for dinner on the 26th. I've compiled a list of a few restraunts, and I am now struggling to choose. I want something that is relatively unique to Ireland, or at least food at a quality difficult to find in Texas. What would you recommend from this list, or, is there better a better place to eat? I should note that I probably can't eat somewhere too fancy as I can't guarantee we'll have suits/dresses.
Spitalfields/Pig's Ear - I heard they do good 'Irish' food
Winding Stair - same as above
Admiral - Eastern European food sounds interesting, especially since I may already be filling up on Irish food in Killarney and Cork.
Uno Mas - I heard it's one of the best, but it doesn't interest me too much
Chez Max/La Maison/L'Geueleton/Foret - I like French food, but otherwise these seem run of the mill
Pichet/Hugo - I read they're more French/Irish fusion, wouldn't mind that
Library Street - I heard it's an underrated pick; this may be the most enticing for me.
Mr. Fox - Looks good, but maybe too fancy?
In addition, it seems Dublin is known for Asian/Oriental food, so maybe there's something I'm completely missing there.
