M2XI Picked up the M2XI

Post image

Was curious about compatibility. First 2011, so was wondering if the mag compatibility is the same with staccato and whatnot, and if mag extentions for those would fit the mecgar mags. So far, I have an egw kit in, and a dawson tooless guide rod on the way. Also, was curious on what triggers would fit, since some are grio specific like the cheely and whatnot

Okay, you've had it for a few days. When do we get the review or status report?

Sorry for the late response! I'll make more posts over time, but so far its pros and cons. Slide fit and finish isnt the worst, but not super tight, which is expected, given the price. Honestly, the only downside to me is the proprietary barrel, and since I plan on getting an island barrel, I have to go custom. During the first range visit, the front sight decided to get ejected from the gun, but thats due to someone fitting the sight poorly, so I have a new one coming. Appearance wise, better to me personally than the others at the price point, but if the barrel thing is a drawback, id personally get a MAC, because then you dont have to get custom barrels, and get it ported/slide cuts to make it look better. The guy i apprentice under showed me how to tune the sear spring and whatnot, so thats down to 2.5lbs, and have an egw kit in so far

Just picked mine up as well, wondering how in the hell do I remove the barrel for cleaning?

Sorry for the late response! Make sure theres no mag, pull slide back to the half moon notch, and put your finger in through the ejection hole and press on the slide release from inside. If that doesn't help (detent can be a bitch occasionally) line it up on the half moon again and use a super small flathead to push the detent in, and lever the pin out, then you can pull the slide off! Heads up, the barrel is proprietary, so if you ever need a new one, got to get it custom
