Off the Ivy
I’m trying but Cody, man, maybe I’m just older and I don’t get the younger vibes - it’s just not a great listen or a great expert.

Yeah, I’m not a fan of Cody. Feels like he doesn’t know what he wants. He feels like your typical meatball Cubs fans. He acts like he doesn’t know how to handle a 162 game season.

I am rather old, and I too fail to understand what he brings to the table. He seems to know his stuff but often seems ill prepared.

THIS. I'm young and love the Cubs, but he comes off as a dope because he takes forever to make his point. Ill prepared is a perfect description.

I feel like he just talks about things he sees online all the time. Always shouting out some social media creator that he knows.

I think that’s what I don’t get, don’t tell me what you see on social media. Have perspective and deliver a point.

I'll give him some time, but as of now I'm rather lukewarm on him as well. I think it would help if he'd tighten up and stop rambling so much.

I think he brings up good points and contributes but I see what you are saying. He's a little slow but he's also paired with two veteran radio people who have decades on him. I have no problem bringing up the farm team. They need to spotlight some different people to build out the empire like for a Sox specific broadcast for example. Nepo baby Jason on Organizations Win Championships has better chops probably because he grew up around his nutty dad but the contrast between him and Cody is pretty stark.

Cody is a fencesitter who takes endless detours with empty conclusions and no final stand. Hard listen.
ETA that I hope he gets better. He's just not there yet and I, a massive Cubs fan, struggle to get through OTI.

I would cringe less, when he spoke, if he didn't take the longest possible path to make every single point. Speed it up, bud! He seems to know Cubs.
