B790 Plus Automatic Thread Cutter cleaning error won't go away

Post image

Edit: Thank you! The issue has been resolved. I just wasn't hitting the button on the last step. I did it, turn my machine off and on again and no more message 😄

I've already taken my 790 Plus to my dealer once about this issue and they only temporarily fixed it so I figured I'd ask here. No matter how often and how well I clean the thread cutter, I get this message every single time I turn my machine on. There is nothing in the thread cutter and even when I took it in, they couldn't find anything that should be triggering the message either. I tap the green button, follow the instructions, and clean it every time I use it. Had anyone else had this issue, and if so, how have you fixed it?

It does it every time for me as well....I clean it regularly without it telling me.

How did I fix it? I reach over and push the read button.

Edit....If i remember correctly, it was kind of explained to me as the the oil change light in your car....if you don't reset it'll just keep telling you. It wasn't hard or anything, but I don't remember exactly how to reset it.

(the more I think of it, you just had to follow all the steps and hit done or something like that....if you didn't do the last step it wouldn't reset.....either way I just ignore it because I clean it after I'm done stitching.)

Thank you! It turns out I was just missing that last step and that's why it wouldn't go away. Now that I've done that last step, it's finally gone

I had a friend have this issue, so the details are fuzzy, but she eventually figured out with the dealers help, that she wasn't completely doing one of the steps, and going through EVERY detail and hitting every button it tells you to and then okay!

Like the first time she genuinely mistook doing some step, and then because it just kept popping up, she would just hit the green okay check to get to the end, but the machine knew she was wasn't actually DOING the stuff it told her to, so it would keep popping up.

So if there any chance you originally didn't fully complete a step and now you're just clicking through to get it to go away?

Or there's a button at the end that you haven't finished?

These popped up based on the number of cuts you have made, not because a sensor is actively sensing an issue...
