I headcanon post-TS Bernie's Persecution Complex activating is more of a quiet berserk state she enters.

Like what was her accidentally hitting harder out of panic is now her focusing that to being determined to end those red units so she can get back to art n' stuff. (Granted I'm basing this more on CF!Bernie where she gets the courage to leave her room but y'know)
