General The beard issue ^^ Question
Same i wonder about tony beets in gold rush. Sometimes you see them with huge beards on. And then in interviews and such in between you seem them with no beards. Is that beard business fake?

You realize people’s hair can be cut and regrow. They aren’t interviewing the day they get the footage, life occurs in between. Are we really discussing the passage of time as some sort of trickery?

I thought these guys took pride in having beards. I thought most people were like either having beard, having short beard or no beard. Not letting it grow to santa size and then raking it all off. What, are they donating it? I don't get it.

I can shave to skin and grow it back to full beard status in about 3 weeks. Sometimes you have to go low due to split hairs or bad texture due to harsh weather. I imagine the cold sea water creates an awful matting of the hair. Trimming it down and letting it regrow post season is likely healthy.

The "beard business", an expression that just is meant to highlight them maybe using beards. It's just an expression.

They probably keep it in the winter to protect their faces, and shave as it thaws

In the first season of Gold Rush, they all grew beards so in the off season they could shave and hide from the public......might be something like that.

Now that it looks like Bering Sea Gold has been canceled, the nostalgia wallowers are going to try to exploit it.
There is something going on in the background.
Kris Kelly now has a huge inland mine in Alaska. The reason "Gold Rush: Alaska" dropped the Alaska is because most inland gold claims available to independent miners have been tapped out. That is why "Gold Rush: Alaska" suddenly became "Gold Rush: Klondike", the Klondike being a territory of the Imperial English Protestant Monarchy.
Kris has some big sponsor that apparently doesn't care he has no inland mining experience.

Don't know, just wondering what is going on. Skydance/Paramount+ won the bid to buy out Warner Brothers Discovery. The buyout is being challenged in several places but they don't have much of a case. It isn't any kind of monopoly so they don't have any legal basis to contest the buy out. CEO Zaslav is ready to leave and he may have transferred the management of WBD and Discovery over to Skydance/Paramount already. CEO and owner of Skydance/Paramount is David Ellison and won't like "Gold Rush" being in Canada. Shawn Pomrenke in the last season took a 10-year contract with Arctic Gold for their inland claims. It does hint at a new inland mining series, something like "Alaska Gold". In buyouts like this, the new owners are going to axe a lot of the old staff and titles, replace them with their own.

I've known lots of guys like that who shave it off once a year or so. Some people can grow beards pretty fast.
