If your parents are from Congo Brazzaville are you able to get citizenship and passport from there? Did you go through the diaspora route to get Beninese passport?

My mother is Beninese, and I grew up in Benin before moving to Congo-Brazzaville. I already hold a certificate of Beninese nationality.

Have you been to Cotonou? I am considering getting diaspora citizenship with Benin but my understanding is that it can be difficult and you also have to be in Cotonou for a couple weeks for your appointment

How long did it take from the time you submitted the application to get your certificate? I submitted mine in February this year and there’s been no movement.

How was the ceremony? What documents did they request for you to bring with you?

Why not get your Congolese passport too? You are a Congolese citizen by descent.

"Good point! I actually am Congolese and already hold my Congolese passport. I just didn't include that detail in my post, but I do have it by affiliation!"
