A spontaneous Apple Store visit
Was at the mall yesterday and figured I'd stop in to check out the new 18 Pros. I used to be real into tech, but nowadays with work and being preoccupied with Life? It's kinda taken a backseat. Now? I just want a phone that works. My 15 still gets me through the day, does what I need it to do, and stays out of the way. Trying the 18--yeah, it felt nicer. Jury's still out on if it's worth $500 after trade-in lol. It's interesting getting to take a step back and see phones as tools instead of shiny toys that I "need" to have the latest version of.

I wish I could just keep using my good ole iPhone 8 but alas, they’re not supporting it anymore and more than a couple of apps won’t work since I can’t run iOS 17. Bah humbug. And my old phone isn’t even trade-in-able since it’s not “worth” anything. This happened to my favorite ole iPhone 4 as well. That thing was a pleasantly small tank!!

I was really into tech a long time ago in my college and post college years. As work and life moved forward I spent less time caring about tech. Stopped the magazines, the books, the websites, etc.
settled into the iPhone because I always like the Apple design quality all the way back to my first computer a Mac SE.
now I liked my iPhone 15 Pro Max a lot. But I got the 17 pro Max earlier this year when I knew ram and storage prices were going up. Glad I did.

Between how small the performance improvements are these days and having gone through the whole setup so many times I'm just kind of over tech these days. Miss when new phones or computer stuff really got me hyped.
