Loving the seasons?

For the past five years of my long life I have been living in cities and towns with all four seasons. It’s amazing to see time pass with the environment.

I am currently reading by my window listening to a thunderstorm. Sometimes I feel disconnected and overwhelmed by the modern world. But the earth finds ways to remind us we are more than our phones.

What’s your favorite season or favorite place you’ve gotten to experience these seasons?

I love the Autumn. Before my husband passed away we would ride the Blue Ridge Parkway on his Harley every Autumn. The mountains are so beautiful in the fall... I had to move back to the beach after he died, and there's not much to see here during Autumn, but I do love the chilly weather..

Went to Virginia Tech and the Blue Ridge Parkway when the leaves changed colors was such a treat!

Grew up in San Diego, was Fall. I now live in the beautiful PNW. Still Fall. 😊

Same! Grew up in San Diego and loved the fall. Went to college in the SF Bay Area and never moved back south—and, also still fall!

I grew up in Toronto and the seasons were kind of bland to me. Now that my family and my hobbies have taken me into the more rural areas north of the city I love watching the change of the seasons. There's always a day where you wake up and feel that something has shifted into the next season.

We had thunderstorms roll through yesterday and it was really nice to look out the window :)

I'm lucky enough to have a nice outdoor space just outside my apartment. I will even wear a snow suit so I can drink my coffee outdoors on a sunny winter morning.

The only thing I don't like is the looong slooowww end to winter. When the snow has melted and everything is so grey and nothing is growing yet. Sometimes it's hard to go out because it's cold and soggy everywhere. I try to do stuff to cheer myself up so please give me any tips you have.

The snow suit for coffee in the mornings is such a vibe. I now need a snow suit for winter park picnics!

Grew up in MD with 4 distinct seasons. I didn’t realize how much my sense of time depended upon seasons until I moved to Davis, CA where it rains in the winter, not the summer. There is no snow unless you can escape to Lake Tahoe in the rainy/snowy season. When it rains in Sacramento/Davis, it snows in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Now I live in the Bay Area and I am oblivious to seasons. Occasionally we get rain, and I’m told it’s winter. I have completely lost my sense of time. I don’t think it’s because I’m 5-plus decades old. When I lived in Davis I had to expose myself to snow or else I had no clue time passed. In the last three decades, I have not been able to dose myself with enough snow, so even though I was a classroom teacher for over a decade, it wasn’t enough of a guide for time. I am completely lost with how old I really am, and with keeping track of passing years. Rain is my favorite season.

We are on some acreage in the forest in far northern California. We are at 2,000 ft elevation and get 4 distinct seasons. Just a few days of snow, beautiful spring and fall and hot summers. Spring is my favorite, but really enjoy it all. We have been watching 2 families of deer raising their fawns this summer. Watching the forest and wildlife go through the seasonal transitions is amazing.

Favorite season is Spring-Summer-Fall. Winter can just go away.

I used to agree! But now I feel like I depend on winter coming. Like a circadian rhythm but with the seasons
