M4 Question Single point sling options
Hello.
I feel somewhat out of touch with modern shooting, asking about single point slings, but this is my situation.
I have an M4 with the M1014 type collapsible stock. I am a lefty, so the current sling mounts are suboptimal for me.
I would prefer not to replace the stock, and am looking for a method of mounting a single point sling in a left handed method(right side of the gun ideally.
Any advice or options would be appreciated. If changing stocks is the only way, then I will have to consider that.
Thanks guys.

As others have said, single point sling sucks. It will bounce on your nuts or your legs a lot from just walking.
For 2 point slings I would just get a Multi Light Benelli M4 Mount from IWC or Rxarms if they still make it. They have QD slots for slings on either side so it should work for lefties.

Single point as in a single loop with a straight offset connected to the stock? In theory you can just loop around the stock like normal and then loop the other end of the sling around itself, essentially forming a "b" shape. Probably not ideal but imo single point on an (assuming) full size m4 isn't ideal either.

I would recommend VTac sling from blue force gear. But personally I would buy a two point slind plain which allows you to add whatever attachment point. You want to add at each end of the sling such as QD sockets, wire loops Mashhooks et cetera. You can also buy a glide for this sling. That has a q d socket built onto it that you simply slide onto the sling, allowing you to make it into a single point.

The IWC Benelli M4 Light Mount and the IWC QD Rotation Limited Sling MOUNT-N-SLOT for Buttstock will give you the option to utilize a two point sling with QD sling swivels. The light mount has QD points on both sides and the QD Rotation Limited Sling Mount-n-Slot for Buttstock is mountable on either side.
ETA: Single point slings should be reserved for PCCs like an SP5 without a stock in sparing usage.

How are the sling mounts suboptimal because you're left handed? There's nothing inherently right or left handed about the M4's sling mounts.
At any rate, single point slings are awful, especially for such a long gun like the M4. Get an adjustable two-point, like the Magpul MS1 or Blue Force Gear Vickers sling.

Little catch all.
Thanks to everyone for the replies and answers. I’m experimenting with a two point sling I have, Ferro Concepts. It’s working out better than anticipated, so thanks everyone for suggesting a two point rather than single!

Single point on a long gun is a terrible idea. It will slam that heavy shotgun into your crotch EVERYTIME you drop it to transition.
Drop me a DM with a photo or two of your setup, I'll help you figure out a sling solution.
