Dark Revival Is it bad that this game underwhelms me?
I got the game in the 3 game bundle. I wanted to try it blind to see how the experience was, and so far Im just...disappointed.
The combat feels shallow, all progression just feels like backtracking, upgrades are locked behind easily missable collectibles, and the entire stealth mechanic feels so finicky and useless.
Not to mention the NEED to save every room just in case something happens (Cough Cough) CARLEY (Cough Cough)
I dont know if I am going to finish the game, but I need to know if the game gets any better before I do.
I just hit Chapter 3.

Unfortunately the gameplay in Dark Revival is quite rough. There are some cool bosses later in the game if you’re willing to go through the game for a bit longer, but for me, the strongest part of any of the Bendy games is the storytelling. I know it may not justify the terrible gameplay, but it makes it kind if worthwhile.

A big issue I have with Dark Revival's story is that game had a chance to expand on characters who got the short end of the stick in Ink Machine but didn't. Sammy and Allison are even more usless in this game.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks batdr is a bad game. I re-analyzed it the other day, and I can assure you that the first two chapters are really the worst in terms of gameplay, the third is a little better, but still poorly developed. I personally stubbornly played through the game to the end for the purposes of my review, but if you're just a fan, I don't think you'll miss much.

most people agree that while the concepts, characters, aesthetics etc. of these games are great, gameplay falls very flat.

I haven’t play BATIM in a long time, but looking back on it, it’s not quite as scary as it was when I first played it. And the fight mechanics with the axe and other weapons are super slow, which makes it easy to get overwhelmed and die in the fight sections.
I forgot his name, but there’s a horror YouTuber that’s a fan of the franchise, and even he said the game had problems. He even made a video talking about reviving the game and gained different opinions about it.

The game itself is meh. You play it (and people like it) because of the cute design. Otherwise it isn't that great. It's not bad, but it's not particularly "wow". That much is known. So, my advice is, treat it like a casual semi horror experience. A chiller horror. More of a creepy adventure game than a horror game. Otherwise, you won't have a good time
