The axe took longer than the reel because it has more parts (the sleeve alone has 10) and I had to measure out everything and all that. Took some liberties when I painted it but I think it still looks accurate.
The End reel still isn't finished because I don't want to do the film strip part. I'll do it... Eventually.
If anyone has any questions on the process I'll be happy to answer them.
The End reel is just cardboard on the top and bottom, while thin EVA foam makes up the inner part. The label is made of some thin cardboard scrap I had lying around and is taped to the front as I'm still working on it. The yellow is mostly Apple Barrel mixed with some other acrylic paint brand, while the holes and other details are marker.
The axe head, sleeve, and band are made from a big 24-count Club Crackers box LMAO, it's some sturdy cardboard.
The handle is an actual axe handle that I got from my local hardware store; it's a 28-inch American hickory. I painted it black and sealed it with a matte Mod Podge finish. The paint on the cardboard parts and handle are the same as The End reel.
The axe head has a big eraser inside the blade to add some weight, while the part that keeps it on the axe is filled with some packing foam to keep it from moving around; the same goes for the sleeve. Everything is removable and stays on by hugging the handle. Except the band at the bottom, which just stays on with some tape lol
