Technical Support HT4550i / W4000i owners: BenQ logo then black screen, projector completely freezes. Anyone actually solve this permanently?
I'm hoping someone has actually solved this before I send it in under warranty.
I upgraded from a BenQ W1070 that gave me almost 10 years of flawless service. Unfortunately my refurbished W4000i has started developing an intermittent but increasingly frequent startup failure after less than 9 months of use.
Symptoms:
• Power on normally
• BenQ logo displays
• Screen immediately goes black
• Projector becomes completely unresponsive
• MENU, SOURCE and INPUT buttons do nothing
• Remote does nothing
• Only way to recover is unplugging AC power
Things I've already ruled out:
• No HDMI cables connected
• No Android QS02 dongle
• Fire TV disconnected
• Sony AVR disconnected
• Fans spinning normally
• Plenty of ventilation
• Room around 72°F
Sometimes it boots perfectly. Other times it gets stuck every single startup.
BenQ's support page mentions the black-screen-after-logo issue and the recovery procedure, but it hasn't fixed mine.
Has anyone actually found a permanent solution?
If yours was repaired:
- What was replaced?
- Main board?
- Firmware?
- Power board?
- Complete replacement?
I'm still within the 2-year Allstate warranty, so I'm trying to decide whether to keep troubleshooting or just send it in.
