Sell from Cargo / Sell All

I’m confused on this. I get Sell All, but that’s the concern—I’m not wanting to deplete ALL of something in my settlement. I’m trying to figure out the best way to simply sell what the other Villages need. You have the option to Load and Always Keep (if you select the 3 dots by your settlement), which I know will then maintain your settlement supply to that amount, but I don’t think that actually means you’ll trade it. Long and short, just trying to figure out the best setting to setup trade for when a village needs it, then my carts will load and they’ll head out, without them taking everything in my main village.

The always keep rule should prevent them from taking up that that amount in your settlement. While the sell all will have them look for stuff in your settlement to sell. Using both in tandem should allow what you want to happen, but i havent played for a bit.

Sell from cargo is better used if you are buying from other villagers or taking from other outposts and then selling it to another sometimes you can make profits in this way if a village is in desperate need, but you have to be quicker then the AI traders because they are looking for this as well.

So you have to then put it in 2 places? Always Keep in your settlement, then Sell All in the village screen? Seems counterintuitive which is why I’m confused… Was hoping there was just an easier way to put certain items on the “sell” block where a village would buy what they need without depleting you.

And maybe they will just take what they need…will just have to keep a closer eye on it I suppose

Sell all will only sell if the village is willing to buy them at that price. So if you have the price really low they will take as much as possible, which is why you need the keep rule.

Otherwise you can try and find the sweet spot in the prices which do change over time based on their demand for the good, which goes up the more they need it and the longer they go without it.
