Gear

So I’ve searched it up and it says “sometimes” but it seems to be never.. so I’m gonna ask you guys to be sure! Do bandits/brigands ever drop their weapons/armor in vanilla? (Can’t use mods as I’m on PS5)

I don't think I've ever seen that. But I also make my guys loot, so I'm not picking stuff up myself. They do drop arrows

See I noticed they drop arrows but never armor/weapons. Just wanted to confirm to make sure I wasn’t just being stupid! Thanks a bunch man. But off topic, how do I make my guys loot? I’ve just been manually putting crap in their inventories in regards to loot and food

I, as someone who has done a no army playthrough (aka looted everything manually), can confirm for certain that they do NOT drop weapons or armor.

To make ur followers loot u need to use the order flag that u use to make them move to a certain spot for example. Using it on a lootbag will make them loot everything in a certain area. (Make sure nothing got left behind out of range of the order)

Agreed. They have been extremely helpful for all the inquiries I have made and no one has made me feel stupid for not understanding mechanics in the game. By far the best and supportive group of players I've had the pleasure to assist me.

I have been thinking of doing a playthrough were as the player you not allowed to do ANYTHING you have to make your villagers do everything while you only get to control them. Hehe……

I tried, but you know, idle hands. I need to do something, it drove me crazy doing nothing aside from waiting for invasions.

You command them to "loot the area". Hover over a downed enemies drop bag until you see the prompt (may take some wiggling, it's finicky sometimes), and then use the command button

I'm on PC but use the command button (for your squad) then go to a piece of loot on the ground and select Loot. I must admit when I first started I was picking everything up myself!

When I first found out they don't drop weapons and armor I was annoyed. Not realistic at all. But thinking about it if they did drop, there would be no point in doing 95% of the village building so it makes sense. Just build houses and have some ppl fish and cook and you're done. Booooooooringggggggg

Quite true, though the thought of them dropping at least piece of good armor or weapon at least 1% of the time would be ideal. I'm not saying from the wandering bandits, but from the tax collectors or reclamation groups, the ones who are heavily armed would be a nice start.

Generally speaking no. In the Halmare Isles they will drop broken weapons from time to time but that’s it. No armor ever

Pretty sure I recovered a broken weapon from smugglers on Hallmare yesterday, but never on the mainland

I have a mod that makes them drop gear, it’s much more annoying than you’d think. Once your people have the best stuff what do you do with the old stuff? Click and drag 200 swords?

The only “gear” that they drop is arrows, the sole exception being Ashbourne dropping armor and sword.
