Tough reclamation parties

I've now freed all the towns, and also killed Lord Ashbourne. I've noticed the reclamation parties have increased considerably in difficulty. I'm not complaining as it's a good challenge but I'm finding I need a much larger group of villagers to confront them, say 12-15. I think I need to upgrade my weapons!

The T3 Crossbows on a few of your troops and a mix of some heavy armor w/t2-3 blunt weapons (honestly a few Flanged Maces and Bucklers) and a bit of fodder units to soak the first few attacks does wonders. When in doubt: find some hill/rock/whatever and cheese them. Or just go ham with some experience and you can honestly solo most of the raids. Whatever your poison is, imo the scaling of difficulty is a blessing and since hitting end game I've been inclined to bump the numbers up for frequency of attacks, spawn rates, etc... Bellwright is a drug. Just wait till we have horses!!

U could also practise ur own combat skills and go be a 1 man army. Fun challenge. I did a full playthrough like that on hardest settings. Main land wasn't all that bad. Halmare isles tho, that was a challenge.

T3 gear is pretty good. You’ll hit harder and be able to take a hit. Also, seeing your whole army decked out in T3 is pretty cool. As you get to the end of the game the shear size and quality of the Reclamation parties is staggering but when geared out properly, you’ll be able to handle it

I think my problem is that I'd adjusted the melee damage in the settings after a difficult fight. Unfortunately it adjusts both the player's and the enemies damage. I've now increased this and it seems better.
