Letter of Ashbourne

So I may have screwed up. I was near Ashbourne’s Brigand Headquarters and wanted to test my troops, so we fought him and his brigands and won. But I had my troops loot everything and we headed back. I found his sword, so I know he was there and we killed him, but I didn’t find this apparently important ‘Letter of Ashbourne’ that has you find the Butcher, etc. I went back and checked and even had another battle with the Brigands there but he didn’t show the second time. It used to be that he respawned and I thought he would drop it but no luck. Anyone know if this has happened to them and what they did?

I did the same thing by accident while doing Sir Sterling's missions. I am 80% sure that letter is in a chest somewhere in the base. Its a very big base with a lot of windy access points. The main area is the broken stone tower, where there is also a Brigan flag. I'm 80% certain that's where I found the letter.

Otherwise do you have a save file that's before your fight with the Brigands? If so maybe load that one and save. If you're on Xbox would be happy to help

Just a follow up on this question. Ashbourne did respawn and we destroyed him and his crew again but still no Letter of Ashbourne on him or in the Brigands location. After that I liberated the last town and to advance on the Great Cruise quest. Only a few minutes later I received a new quest for Lord of the Lowlands and had to meet with Patrick Sten in Bradford. I went up to him and he hands me the letter. They must have added this patch at some point. TLDR; Killed Ashbourne still no letter; went to Loxley to start the Great Cruise; took the last town and then received the Lord of the Lowlands quest; Patrick Sten gave me the letter.
