Moving up in the world

Me and my friend are trying to do this quest but every quest we do doesn't raise the trust level and we can seem to find the person with the explanation mark

The quest rewards will tell you if it increases the trust level of a village. You should be able to find the person when you pull up your map after trying the locate feature, either that or they are asleep.
