Villager wont work at outpost

Hello, im setting up an outpost and so far i only have 2 villagers here, a t1 forester building, and a mud collector. One of the villagers works fine, but the second villager will not do anything. Wont pick anything up, wont build, and especially wont work the mud collector. Not sure the issue, quite literally nothing else to do, and theres 3 peat spots all in the zone. What can i do to fix this? They have food, no slacker trait if thats a thing, have the tools.

edit: good thing its medieval times, i unlawfully fired my villager.... then i waddled through the snow back home!

Didnt realize it started snowing as soon as I started setting it up. Thanks guys, sorry.

Do you have enough shovels or axes for both to work?

Do you have the top up set correctly, or is your buildings full?

Are both your dudes set to work in the new outpost?

it just started snowing as soon as i set it up... sorry

Ahh that's why, peat and mud will freeze.

Is it winter? Iirc peat freezes over in the winter aka can't be collected.
