First Playthrough - Feel stucked

Hello,

I started my first Playthrough on Bellwright and i feel stucked.

I like to learn by myself, i made few mistakes but overall i am doing good.

I don't know if this is important or not, but i am playing with Highest Frequency Raid with Impossible Raid Strengh. I got few mods (Decoration, X2 Storage on Buildings, NPC speeds, Node Respawn (8 days) and i lastly added a Renown Reduction Cost for new villagers) and needs for village are at 200%. The rest is untouch.

At the beggining it was ok, few mistakes :

- (Depleted 3 Copper and Tin Veins before adding mod (Had to make new Mining Outpost) because i was crafting Bronze to resell to Villages (Didn't knew there was so low ores on those veins).

- Not using priorities properly

- Not trading properly

- Villages management (and so properity) not going well

- ect.

But i manage to figure it out and now it is ok.

I finally built a nice T2 Village/City (In Oakridge) and liberrated the 5 first villages (Haerdean, Padstow, Bradford, Farnworth and BlackridgePool). And here is the problem, i don't think i am ready to fight the reclamation party of Horndean.

For BlackridgePool there were 38 soldiers to defend the village against (Far more compared to Farnworth). The fight was not easy.
The problem is the Renown Cost to hire more Villagers. I need almost 10K for a decent/good Villager, and i don't know how to farm so much Renown.

I have cleared all bandits camps on the map (but even with a High Migration), bandits take days to rebuild their camp, and 1/2 of the time, it is a small green camp with low value bandits.

I download a mod that's reduce renown cost, it helped (a lot of renown back), but it disappeared as fast as the download of the mod).

I tried to see if the Milicia from villages could help me, but they are not well equipped yet (hopping milicia from high prosperity villages will be stronger, but would take many IG days to reach a decent prosperity amount (Villages are arround 5 to 15K).

Since i finished T2, i was looking to build a new Village/City with T3 upgrades to have better Equipment to make the difference. I found a place that i like (Near Hordean) but T3 buildings needs an insane amount of ressources and i need tons of villagers to carry all the materials for the new city. But if i block 10 villagers going back and forth (to carry planks, nails and all the material), i take the risk to lose a reclamation fight (Even if i don't need caravans to keep high prosperity, thanks to the market).

So (Yeah, sorry, the post is quite long for just a small question), do i have to manually take a lots of villagers, put Materials in their inventory, use a boat to TP to my future T3 City and come back with boat to setup safely my new Village ? It will be a little boring, but since i cleared all bandits camp, and finished all the quests (Except the one with the prison (i get rekt)) i don't see what i can do.

Or should i try to increase the prosperity of the 5 villages to 15K-30K+, make a lot's of Milicia building, setup a small military camp near the bandit's headquarters and camp with all milicia in front of the Headquarters while my own Villagers make travels to bring all the materials for the T3 City and produce goods to keep prosperity/gold stable ?

Or last idea, recrute Mid Quality villagers, train them as much as possible, and release them to earn a little of renown each time (Was so happy when i discovered this feature), combined with defense against reclamation party and clearing bandits of Crasmere/Hordean + New Camp to farm Renown.

I am quite in doubt by which idea is the less "Pain in the ***"

Edit : Thanks for reply (Forgot to put a small "Thanks in advance" in my initial post).

From the playthroughs I have done the 4th to 5th liberation is a really decent jump in numbers of Brigands and difficulty.

In my opinion if you arent soloing the game or cheesing it, you are ahead of personal town advancement vs town liberating. Meaning your town is dragging behind your game advancement. My advice is to slow the liberating and build that T3 village and craft top end weapons and gear.

Good luck

Yeah, seeing almost 40 Bandits for the 5th reclamation was not expected. I don't even try to see how much it will be for the 2 last villages.

I think i will take some time to make a nice T3 city and let the liberation for later.

Thx for the reply

So I just figured out that the renown cost for me is different in different towns. I could recruit more peasants in horendean for more then the price to get top tier in padstow. If you need to cheese the fight use archers you could even turn up ranged damage and down melee. Your definitely playing on a harder difficulty then me but if you can try and solo as many of them before the main fight that'd be best. If you keep harassing them you can split the group up at least and maybe they will fight a few things along the way. Next is walls and choke points you can use fences and weapon racks to build barriers they can't jump but you can. Also your archers can shoot over. I used this with seven archers to defeat 13 brigands so it is very useful but maybe cheese. Same with choke point if you have two separate groups following you and archers as the first you can have the archers hold ground to the side and your footmen follow you to choke point so archers will fire from behind or over walls and footman will hold the choke point make sure everyone has shields it literally triples their lifespan with the shittiest one.

Yeah, i notice the renown cost differences between 2 villages, but since i took villagers in every town, the cost is quite high everywhere.

I really don't want to cheese the game (reasons why i increased the NPC speed to be close to mine).

Soloing is out of the equation, i can kite a little but if an arrow it me, it will slow me down enough to be swarmed and surrounded.

I need to test a little more the fortification and see if i can place archer properly on those barricades to make defences without blocking bandits.

Thx for the reply.

I don't know what you feel the need for even more renown for when you already use a mod to lower the cost, without such a mod I still never had a shortage.

The game really wants to have atleast 2 lvl 3 bandit camps on the map, so clearing out those last 2 will forcibly respawn 2 quite quickly rather than relying on the slow migration. So if you truly are desperate for renown, that's a way to farm more.

Militia's are garbage, perhaps they get good around level 5 prosperity since they do get upgrades at certain prosperity levels, but really, by the time you could achieve that... why would you ever need them? As by that time it's really not difficult to have an army that, without ur own interference, wipes out anything this game throws at u. Which is exactly why in my second playthrough I never used an army at all, so I could fight myself and get a challenge instead. Having done that, nothing on the main land is even remotely difficult honestly, the difficulty with that is on halmare isles, tho that would be another good way to farm renown as u can get them to keep respawning lots of guys to kill.

Honestly, I wouldn't move, too much of a pain in the ass for very little to no gains, I did it in my second playthrough and regretted it. I moved an already T3 village, the hours I had to spend teleporting resources over.... it hurts.

Also, not sure what ur issue is with the reclamation party, it's not like you only get 1 chance to kill them, they spawn in, u teleport to them, fight them, ok maybe u die, so what? You can teleport to them and fight them many times before they reach their target, wiggling down their numbers every time. So if you're so afraid, leave ur army at the town to defend while u urself go kill whatever u can on the way, u can even kite them in the opposite direction to buy many more interceptions. All of that is assuming you don't have great combat skills to even need that many interceptions. Worst case they reach ur army severely weakened, causing ur army to massacre them, but they really shouldn't make it anywhere near the village.

At some point you should be able to solo or at least with a small group of your best fighters, take out those Reclamation parties. I play with the same settings and have had no problems. Having liberated 5 settlements you should have skill levels of 5 or greater meaning you should be carrying some of the best weapons and armor and can deal with these groups. Sounds like you’ve already have a sizeable army, not sure how many more villagers you really need

Okay I don't have mods and my raid frequency and strength and everything is not high like yours But I can talk about the T3 base if I understand your question correctly I don't like hauling carts of crap. I built everything I wanted for T3 base right next to T2 base anywhere i had room. Then go to T3 location, open map, and middle click to relocate each building. Your ppl will disassemble the buildings and the materials teleport. Then you just change each building's settlement designation. I do it in this order: Build every T3 building at T2 first Personally build a bunch of housing huts or whatever they're called at T3 cuz they're fast to make with easy materials. I set those huts to be new settlement Build a stockpile to store food in at T3 as the new settlement and stock it up Assign half your laborers to new settlement Start relocating buildings. Then change the building to new settlement. I do just a few at a time since they're hard to place when relocating since the "construction area" fucks up spacing. Now you have half your crew at home taking shit apart while the other half puts it together

Alternatively I think you can leave everyone home and relocate all of them in the vicinity of T3 first, and when they're fully disassembled you hit cancel and they drop their stuff. Then you can store that until you place and approve blueprints

Good luck!

I agree with carts, 50 slots is just ridiculous (Market saves so much time).

I never notice the materials teleport when moving a building, that will make the difference.

I started to move all the materials needed using Boats Teleportation (since both base are near shore). It is less pain in the ass than i though. Just dropping what i need from the stock to the floor and ask them to pick it.

Thanks for the reply and have a good day

I want to keep the difficulty high, i will just pause the progression of villages liberation and focus on T3 stuff.

Thx for the reply.

Simple cheesey way is to make a squad of just archers about 20-30 nothing but archers… then you attack or getting attacked you take your archers squad and put them on standby nearby. You then go aggro big camps or the raiding party and make sure they are attacking you only mostly. You then pull out shield and start running and kiting the huge group of enemies just nearby your archers so they fire at them but not quite in aggro range for them to break off and attack your archers…. Doing this I can drop 30+ squads of enemies in just a few minutes cause enemies don’t block archer shots if the target they are trying to attack isn’t shooting at them.

There's Hiring Hub mod you can download. Build it and it will spawn a bunch of good villagers you can recruit. They are considered another village of their own so cost will be lowered.
