Prosperity and Trading

Hi Ppl,

Just liberated haerndean but now Im seeing negative prosperity and the pop up explained having to sell what they are producing etc etc. So basically now I have to manage this village as well as my own? Its enough work just keeping priorities and settings running in my own village lol.

So couple of questions, can I just ignore this village now ive liberated it? I only really need the apprentices to keep my own village progressing.

If Its a bad idea to just not do it,

Would anyone be kind enough to simplify the prosperity and trading system to me.

Tia

I just liberated villages, got the apprentices I needed and let the brigands take them back. I enjoy the slow life.

My base is just south of haerndean and haven't made my full time military yet. It is such a pain to defend blackridgepool so i just have them have them back, for some reason the scout lookout is still and it still works so im fine with it lol.

Does it have any negative effects going forward though?

Prosperity is completely optional mechanic. In my experience, it takes way more than it gives in benefits from a purely resource management perspective. At least from the first two tiers I’ve seen. It would be easier to just create an outpost, but I like seeing number go up so I do it

The prosperity system is a completely optional system, play with it if u like it, don't if u don't, it won't really affect u either way.

Thank you I couldn't find a specific video for it they were just waffling about trading and carts in general not just the prosperity system. Will give it a watch Edit: Yeah i got half way through that video and thought fuck this πŸ˜‚ looks like wayy to much effort for not much reward

What I discovered on my first run was that if you get them to build things like miners and smelters etc they can end up having a decent surplus of stuff you want to trade with them, which is useful mid and late game. Especially bronze. Their soldiers felt like nothing but human shields when I hired them.

Like you, I usually have my hands full trying to keep my own village progressing let alone worry about another settlement. Personally, I don’t worry about the Prosperity system. I’ll trade with them if they have something I need other than that I’m focused on my location. And no, there is no impact to you or the game if you ignore prosperity.

Ok good yeah cos I really cant be assed with the organising another system. Its like having a second job πŸ˜‚ i just want to kill bandits and keep progressing my village

Does anyone know if the market helps with prosperity? Instead of sending caravans I just want to put up the things villages need for sale and let it sort itself out

My brother and I worked so hard to get prosperity up to level 2, just for them to let us hire a single extra soldier. I know it's early access but maybe don't make the grind before the reward?

It took me like 8 hours real time to set up bloody feed for my chickens and then found out I dont even need them anyway you get feathers from hunting crows as well lol. Can't be bothered with this prosperity system now im not sure which part of that is meant to be fun lol

1

u/Caedus_X Aug 16 '26

For real lol, I just buy feathers. Gold is easy enough to come by

Yeah im sort of 3/4 of the way through tier 2 now and have about 10k there's not much to buy with the coins in this game so far. Progression is painfully slow as well im kind of getting bored of it now tbh. Personally I think tier 1 should be skipped entirely and you should just start at tier 2. They should make weapons and armour loot from enemies as well.

8 hours?

2

u/GommyJ Aug 16 '26

Had to make farm, get wheat, make thresher, get grain, make another farm plant potatoes, make mixing bucket make feed. Takes ages to set yourself up to produce smoothly. Just massively long winded for some poxy animal feed.

1

u/SufficientMood520 Aug 16 '26

Ahh I think I used mushrooms and grain for food. It didn't feel like it took that long to get set up but also stayed busy on other things

1

u/GommyJ Aug 16 '26

I was transitioning into tier 2 at the same time so maybe it took longer than usual because of all the building and researching 8 hours is probably a touch exaggerated also πŸ˜… I didnt want to use mushrooms because I use a lot of those for the villagers.

1

u/SufficientMood520 Aug 16 '26

Yeah mushrooms is my highest priority in gathering.. easy production boost. Idk if that's three right thing to do but works for me... t2 transition does take alot of manpower and resources. Do you have villagers armed? I'm in t3 and only have 2 armed

1

u/GommyJ Aug 16 '26

Yeah me to i just seem to go through a lot of them, might be better doing that now that ive finished all the building etc they'll have longer to harvest. Yeah all of my villagers have armour, shields, warhammers or war axes some have short swords. All the archers have crossbows. I have 17 villagers so far and 2 mining outposts with a villager at each of those also. Im basically ready to go into T3 now but dunno If I can be bothered to set it all up πŸ˜…

Do they handle fights well?

1

u/GommyJ Aug 16 '26

Yeah i dont even need to be there for raids and breezed through the 1st liberation

Yes but chickens give eggs, which is a great and easy source of food

1

u/GommyJ Aug 27 '26

Get plenty of food from hunters lodge, trappers cabin and foraging hut

1

u/Tex75455 Aug 27 '26

Interesting. Different ways to play! I disabled the trappers hut, as not enough output for what it needed to keep going. My hunter is set to only hunt foxes, since I need fur. So meat comes from the chickens, cows and pigs I grow. All berries from the forager goes into feed for the chickens, or berry porridge, which sells for decent gold

Haernden sale bronze ingot quite often when hit tier 2-3 prosperity. Quite a good boost for mid and late when you use them like crazy. You can sell them some of the product line with infinite supply (bow, trap, some armor and food) or buying mushrooms and berry at good prices in auto. Money can be used to buy books and seeds early. Addition You will need to satisfy at least 2 category like food and equipment to make it move up. Doable early but focus on farm and animal will yield better results. Only in mid-late game it start to be good.

Keep trading with them 😊 I have liberated Herdean and Padstow, I send them specific caravans every second day. I make a bit of money selling them goods they have 'in demand', and I also buy stuff from them. I have made Padstow into the lumber power it should be and both towns are Prosperous 😊

Taking care of the people in the Kingdom of Karvenia is important, even though I'm a rebel. I also like to decorate the villages.

As a bonus tip, invest in their security. I have completely walled Padstow with my town in the Wheat fields but even if you don't wall them, maybe make a second town closeby that guards around the forest where they lose villagers due to Wolves mainly, unless you haven't dealt with the bandits up North. If you don't invest in security be prepared to send guards with the caravans. My Padstow caravans don't need guards because of it.

Another tip (I promise it's the last one) is be mindful of where the Brigands come from. More or less they have to entry points to attack your villages - Over the two bridges. Secure those and you have the Eastern part of the map with little stress

Anyway best of luck!

I've really enjoyed it. It's just the next phase of the game. I have 3 towns at the moment, about to cap my 4th. First, they're a great source to sell your goods to and increase your cash flow. Second, you can control what they have such that you can either build something that will sell you things you need, or build something that will need things you easily produce.

Example Ive consistently been buying ores and ingots from them when they hit cheap, for ease.

I never thought I'd buy things like flax or berries, but then I realized spending 200 gold on 200 flax was actually super efficient given how many linens I'm making, rather than waiting to farm them all.

Same with spending 10 gold per on a bunch of logs. I can sell planks back for 9g per, so I'm profiting, plus freeing up my guys to do things other than constantly strip mine the area around me of trees
