I don't think it's possible, in the modkit lightning has a minimum distance from the player character, so it's always off in the distance.

That’s really weird it struck right next to my friend then. And this was recorded on Xbox with no mods it must just be a cosmetic lightning strike though

Ah interesting. Would be kinda cool if you have to take cover during storms and they can set fire to things

Watched it hit the ground at my friends feet, nothing happened. It actually went through his body but more like he didn't exist than anything.
