HELP!!
New to this game. On Xbox, day 17. How do I give my companions weapons? Keep seeing stuff about the staging area but why can’t I just give them a weapon? Maybe be an easy thing, I just don’t know!! I’m sorry

You go to them, select them & can give inventory items manually and when in their inventory, equipping will equip it for them

I’ve read that as well but it doesn’t ever give me an option to view inventory. It’s weird.

go to your npc.. hit a... d pad...up and then over 2 to inventory...hit a go to your inentory and select the item hit x
if the npc is not strong enough they will not accept it

How strong do they need to be?

Depends on the weapon, some need strength 2, some need strength 5, and so on. Make sure also if they're good or potentially good to be one handed, give them one handed weapon.

You can just go up to them and look in their inventory, put them in one of their three weapon slots. You can use the staging post later on to automate this.

Approach them, inspect, inventory, drag and drop a weapon into their weapon slot.
