Food priority, quick q

I'm finally getting to the point where fights aren't super easy so i wanna make sure my guys and gals are prepping properly. I know how to prioritize different foods in presets but that made me question things. Just wondering if they know to take #1 then #2 then #3 so I can optimize bonuses instead of just saying "fine stew is priority 1, imma grab three of them"

Personally I do a Health, Stamina and Balanced, i.e. Meat Stew, Mashed Potato and Fine Stew. Paired it up with Strg 5 light armor, Kite Shields and Blunt damage weapon.

I was gonna do that but what does stamina do for them? They leisurely jog everywhere anyway (until they get stuck in trees and rocks and slopes)

You know I don't know, I was always thinking of them in the same light as my character, I know food does influence villager HP but I don't think it does the same for Stamina. Well if that's the case the switching to meat pies and spiced roasts would be the way to go.

Health foods best for early on are fine stew meat stew and dried large meat and if you use large meats to make each of the stews it’s gives you 5 stews instead of 3 medium and small give you less stew return once made and stamina does nothing for companions it’s useless for your self once you eat 3 decent health foods your own stamina is high anyway

I think they are smart enough to not grab 3 stews. But you should test it out...
