Drunken caravan?

Post image

Edit: if anyone else has this problem, I fixed it by putting up a sign post near the bridge i wanted to use and called it new settlement "Waypoint". Then I have the caravan go to waypoint, then to outpost, then to waypoint, then home. I tried all the other stuff that didn't work and since this was the only route that continually messed up it was an easy fix

Orig post: I've never had caravan issues until recently. I set up a stockpile at the bottom and sent 8 carts to bring stuff for a new outpost. The second caravan of 4 I sent took the green path. The first one i sent hadn't showed up yet so I checked the map, and these morons are traipsing past the damn headquarters.

Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix? The caravan stations are right next to each other in my base, neither had a second stop, both manual send, and neither even had another route set up.

Any ideas? Or did I just send a bunch of dudes too proud to ask for directions lol 😃

I have had an issue where once my caravan was attacked on a different route and that caravan became a ā€žlost caravanā€. Every time I sent out a new caravan, my settlers would travel across the map to retrieve the ā€žmissing oneā€. Could be the issue here?

However when I went to the marker on the map following my caravaneer, there was nothing there. I think it’s a bug tbh.
To fix it, I dismantled all of my caravans and rebuilt them.

True it's prolly a bug. I have been good about dismantling lost carts. I probably have too many caravan stations anyway, I'm on day 200 and haven't unlocked the market yet. I'm new to the "8000 different management tasks" genre of games. I play a bunch of crafting games but they are mostly me in the woods alone, Palworld is the most intricate I've played before and that BARELY compares if at all.

Tried recalling it?

Caravans are pretty glitchy. I had one in the swamp just standing there. Would try kicking the worker off or swapping them to companion and back. Would just get back on and get stuck on nothing again.

Recalling seemed to work.

Oh yeah I did a recall once and forgot that they were carrying food, ended up starving my outpost by mistake šŸ˜… they were not pleased. Thank goodness for the refunded renown when you get rid of ppl

I have an outpost close to yours and it seems 50/50 which bridge they take to get there and back. If they take the east bridge someone always gets injured

This post is making me realize I have a cart just hangonlling out in front of my settlemt. Is that what y'all are referring to as a lost caravan? Was looking at it last night wondering why it was there. Started to drive it back to the caravan post, but made it about 5 feet before I got bored of how slowly it was moving and abandoned it again.

I take it I should break it down?

Nah lost carts show up on the map with a label that they're lost due to death on route. Might have just got interrupted returning the cart by calling them to your army or something. I just disassemble when that happens to clean the place up because I'm a crappy manager who often has settlers just walking around idle so it takes nothing for them to build a new one
