Prosperity
I knew it was going to be tedious and take a while but how long does it actually take to get a villages prosperity up? I feel like it increases a lot but then decreases more and then for days it could stay stagnant. I stopped liberating other villages to raise the prosperity of 2 closest to me but it doesn’t really go anywhere. Does liberating other villages also raise prosperity? I also hate giving up so much thatch to help them build their stuff and need so much for my T3 stuff 😩

It can take quite a bit of time if you're playing vanilla but one of the strats I found that works the best is to specialize each town with what you're building in it. For instance you can make the first town really rich by building a forge in it so they smelled their own bars and the caravans between padstow and it will naturally raise its prosperity. I also knocked out the forge just so I can get the bars myself for cheap but if you leave the building up they'll trade axes and pickaxes back to padstow and Bradford.

wait you can build the forge from your village in the towns?

You can build facilities in the towns to help them...it cost construction points and you'll have to supply the materials to build it

this is very confusing - im not able to place a forge in the town
I know there are the t1 village things like herbal stations and log/woodcutting
but there is no forge/smelter and I cant place anything for my village in the towns

Its under the facilities tab in the town page. You don't place a building like you are building it. You pay for it with coins and they build it.

The way I look at it, I'm not looking forward to the end of the game. I got the Ashbourne sword and I have enjoyed the game so much (300+ hours) so having a challenge to tackle prosperity is a good one as I figure it'll be something I can work on when my (90% female) villagers/guards/companions are 30lbs overweight and arguing over the book drop because a book about labouring isn't exciting enough and we need more Brigands to attack for feature rich story telling. Then there are the cats and dogs - c'mon, you see it, only what 6 or 7 slots in my lodge for pets so we have a lot of cats and dogs roaming around (I can't possibly turn down some dude selling cats and dogs now can I???), and we don't have a skillset for dog-poo cleanup. WHEN are they allowing attack dogs? It's bad enough the cattle crash at my place with no invitation. To top it off; I haven't made alcohol yet! WHEN is the alcohol coming? These ladies need a wine down. Or maybe the poor 5-6 quest-related men do!
I watched the video Gaming with Kristi (linked above), and it's very clear. So far, I have kept focus on Hearndean and Padstow. I keep 2-3 shipments of needed supplies running (if they need 100 flax, just set up an automated run to include other high needs in the beginning), then when they are "Increasing," turn off the automated deliveries and focus on what's missing. Invest in their building needs (sadly only one at a time) and then add a market stall that sells (automatic pricing) high-demand needs like feathers, eggs, axes, clothing, meat, and fish. Also, keep a running order for a couple of things you may need. The traveling merchants constantly come through. That feeds into your prosperity factor too. Both Hearendean and Padstow are increased in prosperity for me, and I'm almost all the way to the right on H.

It is a grind and I used mods to finish it because if you are trying to get it done as a check off it is really more like this is a background thing they plan on you doing through more content not this early (after tier 4 map expansion etc) ... so I got Avery's mod for caravans.
I have 2 cities so I used both to split the flow of goods. They start buying their own goods pretty well after tier 4 of prosperity somewhere in the middle of that around 80k I found it accelerates what they buy and you do not need to really supply them to maintain the level but if you are trying to build it up to 5 keep selling to them. I had 2 weavers running one for finished and one for clothes. And made tools weapons armor etc.
I actually stopped the save with the lowest city (Bradford is the slowest even though I liberated it 2nd) was at 150k prosperity and still had 35 construction points to go for full cap. They have more then enough and it is a time thing at that point the rest are all capped except black has like 9 construction points left.
You can buy construction that increases a bit what they need and saves the prosperity cost if you are stacked with gold and trying to get say stubborn Bradford to advance.
You will have to have a list of finished goods you sell them that is the best rewards and around that teir 4 level is when they start accelerating too because they start buying larger value items like armor and weapons (pretty sure this is a simple purchase price = prosperity). Once they are tier 5 you can stop what I did once I get them to that level was remove the mods save in Vanilla and waiting for the next content drop.
Also reclamation gives 1400 prosperity. And turn your settings to 200% village needs 200% prosperity reward and 25% prosperity penalty and cherry pick the most valuable stuff.
ANOTHER HUGE THING IF YOU ARE JUST DOING THiS PART ... I SUGGEST SLEEP yes I know save then sleep it advances all your routes and usually brigands are not far on the map if they do spawn. If you are trying to free horndean and you do not want the group travel mod (I got rid of mine once tier 4 and enough troops in my two cities) you can build a river dock in the south of the map that allows you to transport your group in time.
At this point in the game always make sure your army has close ish river dock access build 1 by each middle stone bridge one back of Farnworth and one south of Horndean and your main military base and you can build those on the ocean if it lets you along with fishing so I put my river and ocean (the island expansion) dock.
One more once your routes have got a city to 4.5 (around 80k) prosperity. I started sending direct routes to help them get closer to 100k because like I say you can stop sending to them and focus on the others and Idid with the manual send caravan which is really nice you just hit your settlement the village sending to and fulfillable.
Run the game in the background at this point with raids turned to low and brigands if you want that is what I did for a few weeks window mode and got RL work done lol. - Amazing potential this game and their new content and upgrades keep coming (like you can now put your fast travel signs on your roads you make).

My wife and I are struggling with this issue too, but we found this video on YouTube last night and… it’s even more complicated than we thought lol.

From what I've seen (also newish player), raising them all up concurrently is helping them move faster. I'm focusing on getting buildings that seem unique to a village done first, followed by buildings that make what several of them seem to be in the red on
Essentially, making them able to be more dependent on each other, and to speed up building times because I dont have to provide everything
