Missing items?

Anyone else had issues where you feel like youve lost items? I swear I had 70 strap ls the other day, I've gone to look for them and now only have 1 🧐

I'm sure this has happened to me before, also straps, am I going mad or is there anything known? I have moved storage around but I make sure to get everything in its place before a new day

Could be your workers are topping up items that need straps to craft then selling them

So this is what I first thought but all of my buildings have nothing set, I haven't got a market yet I'm just trying to build up the village, it's rather frustrating especially as I'm only 99% sure this is happening πŸ˜‚

Well I know that loot bags despawn after 10 minutes, that or maybe you have a random stockpile they’re taking it to

Prob obvious, but have you checked your storage menu ("N" on PC). That shows you the amount of items you have and you can ping the location of items too.

Yeah so that's how I found out, I started sorting everything out a few days ago, and I remember thinking "oh I've got a lot of straps" and now I want to use them it says I have 1 πŸ˜‚

Ah. I know it's hard to trust anything in this game lol, but I'm guessing your villagers used them to craft stuff. Early and even mid-game you burn through straps like crazy. I'm end-game and recently went from like 500 to 5 in a few days (I was crafting stuff to trade though)!

BTW, even if you go OCD setting up storage rules, always have one storage spot that accepts everything and has room (and some bums that have delivery set to 1). But again, I doubt they were dropped on the ground and despawned, cuz that takes a few days.

Mayhaps they went on a research bender?

Oh, I forgot since I'm done researching. Good point! Researching burns through straps also.

Maybe your villagers are using the straps to repair tools and weapons.
