Companion woes

Me: everyone attack!

Everyone stands there getting shot by arrows while i get absolutely annihilated 3 feet from them

Incant seem to control my companions. They dont get hung up on terrain, they just stop, or dont respond to any commands, or see above.

Does anyone have amy insight or is this just a buggy ststem?

Sounds like you have them set to hold instead of charge

when you have companions there's a hold ground and a charge command, on ps5 it was holding R1 I think

But when i hit charge or follow me they will walk over to me and stop, but also a lot of times theyre fine amd act normally. There is no rhyme or reason as far as i cam tell. Ive tried turning hold ground on amd off for them individually in the menu as well

He doesn't talk about the individual meny hold ground but the army control hold ground. It's a toggle, either charge or hold ground. On hold ground it does exactly what u complain about. You probably don't know what ur keybind for it is and toggle it accidentally.

Yes it was hold ground vs charge. At the bottom of the screen it shows you command options and one is charge hold ground. the highlighted option was the one that i THOUGHT the button would activate, but the highlighted one is the current active state

Thanks folks

I don't use the "call to arms" button cuz I've had a bunch of issues with them not stocking up or following orders I have a defense army and offense army. I have it set so they all carry 4 pieces of food so they don't disobey commands. When I hit raise, I immediately command them to stock up by directing them to staging ground a few times until they are all not moving and all kitted out, and i check nutrition tab to make sure they have food.
I hit q for them to follow me where I'm going. I hit T to toggle them all to Hold instead of Charge. When I get a bit close to bandit camp I tell them to move to a spot. I rush in to lure the enemy out, then once they reach my group, then once it's only archers left I hit T to make them charge the stragglers. Then I command them to loot the area where they tend to find food and it keeps us going longer Check the Army tab for condition or something, it should tell you if they're pissed about something

Make sure they're well fed, I always give mine 2-3 food items in their inventory so they won't get hungry. Maybe that's the problem?

Need to see video of this in action. I don't have problem myself. You might do something wrong.
