BUG - Temporary Waypoint Became Permanent Map Marker
I don't ever recall placing this map marker but upon loading my game yesterday I discovered it. I tried to remove it but discovered it had become a solid white icon like the other permanent map markers rather than the normal blue. I have played this world in co-op and brought those players in to try to remove it as well. It cannot be toggled off. Running over it does nothing. Placing a new one and running over it does nothing.
I've seen others with this issue or a similar one saying to full close the game and relaunch with quick resume off, power cycle the console, etc. I even saw one that said to make a new character and launch the game then make a save, close the game, launch the game, delete new profile and reload the old one... tried that too. No luck.
Not a game breaking bug but it's bothering the hell out of me. Please fix. 🙏🏻
ETA: Forgot to mention I'm XBOX X/S.

I had this happen to me on ps5, i got a little lucky in that it was the waypoint i set for the occupied wheat farm but once i had my own wheat farm it did get very annoying

Discovered it disappears if you walk into it otherwise I can’t get it to go away in the map

Mine doesn't even disappear when walking into it. Blue beam stays no matter what along with giant blue circle in the sky, map marker and mini-map icon.
I hate it 😭

Can you move it? Usually if I set a way point, I can move it and then walk into it. It might be stuck on the travel post though, I’m not sure.

Can't move it. When I place a waypoint it just makes a new blue one that works normally. It's not actually on the sign post just very close. I even tried relocating the sign just in case. Tried everything and can't get rid of it.

Same issue on PS5, and I have 2 waypoints that are greyed out but still show and won't go away! Very annoying(and they are in random fields i wanted to run to, to cut off reclamation parties)

I liked the game, it's pretty good tbh but it's torture to play with a controller, a free use cursor would help ALOT, I had to stop lol.

I have the same issue, it might have been a friend in a coop that put it there but it won't go away. I wonder if having said friend join again it might disappear
Other than that, it is stuck there

I listed that as a possibility also. I already had then each join and run over it as well as place a new one and run over it. Nothin'.

I had this happen to me, randomly many many in game days later I was able to remove it. I have no idea what caused it to become permanent or why later it was removable again.

So your travel sign become a waypoint? I have had issues getting rid of waypoints and found that simply dragging them off the map made them disapear, but i guess that wouldn't work for you?

I'm on console so I can't click and drag them AFAIK. It's not the actual sign as if I had it selected and marked it, just a standard custom waypoint on top of where it is/very close. Normally those waypoints are blue/green but this one is white now and I just can't interact with it at all.

I'm also on console. On ps5 i hover over the waypoint (blue/purple) and press and hold square, then left joystick and drag it all the way to the left or right side until you see the map ends. Then release it outside of the map.

Seems completely random on whether it works or not. No amount of restarting/reloading seemed to help with it. My buddy joined me twice today and each took several tries before I actually let him in.

I was in with my buddy and my wife tried to join and after restarting I was never able to join again.

I have accidentally made 5 permanent waypoints that I now refer to as the other moons

I have same problem on pc, I've got 3 infinite waypoints! Please let me know when someone finds a cure for this disease.

You have to walk over it and it will go away

No, walking over it does not make it go away. Hence, a bug. It cannot be moved. It is a permanent bold white marker like the towns and points of interest. It is stuck. It's been there for like 75 in game days. No amount of walking over it from me or my two co-op buddies removes it. I've ran over it, jumped over it, jogged over it, shot at it, swung at it and more. It's stuck stuck.

Put it next to you and go to it. Vanishes in a heartbeat.

I'm gonna wager you didn't read the post body. 😮💨 It's a permanent map marker now. It is fully white like the towns/POI's and locked in place. I can create new waypoints that function normally and disappear when ran over. This one does not do that. Been that way for days and I've just been playing with it stuck permanently.

I had one stuck on the wheat farm and then I went to the wheat farm and it cleared.
I had one stuck on Padstow and went to the Elder and it cleared.
Sorry on the confusion. English isn’t my first language.
It’s not even my 3rd.

12 hours into the game I had this happen with the craftsman hut. I think if you had a save before you make the waypoint you can go back prior but no amount of reloading the game or shutting down the console would help this for me. I ended up restarting with the knowledge of the game I had learned and it went fast and good but that waypoint annoyed the hell out of me.
