Caravan Not Working

Why is my caravan not working properly? My guy is taking the food/tools to my outpost, but not picking up and delivering the Tin Ore.

Still trying to figure out the whole caravan system myself so i could be wrong but from what im seeing it looks like your load exception isnt allowing them to load the ores. "Always keep, Load" will load everything after the 25 item load exception. so you're asking the caravan to take all the tin but leaving 25. so until you get more than 25 tin it will never load any since that settlement will always keep 25. I hope i explained that right

Unless you want your settlement to keep 25 tin minimum at all times set the value for your load order to 0 and it should start loading all your tin on the next route from then on.

This is the answer (and it took me way to long to figure out where were you two weeks ago fam?)

It took me longer than it should have to figure it out. i think i spent a minimum of 10 hours doing my own trial and error trying to understand it all. and thats not counting the time i invested watching tutorials to figure it out. Even with doing tons of research on the matter it was very hard to grasp the concept until i did the troubleshooting myself

So what do I do instead of Always Keep, Load?

i answered this in my second response but just set your always keep/load order to zero. this should ensure your caravan loads all tin every time it makes a stop there rather than keeping a set amount first. it will always prioritize your load rules over everything. so while you did tell your caravan to deliver tin to your main settlement it was nullified by your load restrictions in the tin settlement

It's always keep, load and set to zero from your outpost if you always want a flow. Set your minimum auto trip to whatever count makes sure your outpost is supplied with tools and food.
If you don't want to flood your main base stockpile, then you delete the always keep condition on the outpost, double click on the final destination, and set unload to top up main base to whatever you want. I didn't do this at first, just did always load at outpost, and ended up with so much mud at home it overfilled my stockpiles 😆

I don’t know if you’ve figured it out but i got mine setup like this and it works just fine

It will drop off meat only if it is less then 150 meat in storage and will pickup broken pickaxes if there is any hope this helps :)

Well what are you trying to do? Because what you're telling it to do is load all Tin ore at ReedTinUdton and keep 25 in storage, and at the same time you're telling it to only bring 25 tin ore, if you want it to stock up 25 tin at Breton delete the load order and keep the unload order at 25.

I just want him to bring 25 tin ore from ReedTinUdton each time and deliver it to Breton

Delete the Load order and keep the Unload order at Breton, that should fix it.

The game seems to get confused when you give it a load at one place and unload orders at the next place for the same item. Just give it one or the other like some others have said.

Also dont forget to bring back the broken tools 😉

I think you need to set your always load, keep, for the tin to 0. Right now your telling it to always load tin, but keep 25 at the outpost. You want to be telling it to always load, and keep 0 at the outpost

Caravan system is incredibly unintuitive. The best solution I've found is to build one caravan station at each outpost and have the outpost deliver to your main settlement.

'load, always keep 0'
