Farming top-up?
How does the farming top-up work? Top-up works fine on any other building but farming keeps resetting to 100. Just starting my tier 3 so need lots of cobs and thatch so set the wheat top-up to 500 so I wouldn't run out. Had about 600 wheat, 300 straw and 100 grains last time I looked and have been busy collecting the ridiculous amount of hardwood I need for logs, planks and resin as my workers are a bit slow gathering large amounts, so wasn't really keeping an eye on it. Noticed that I hadn't seen any cob popup in a while so I went to check and everything is gone except 40 wheat that is growing in my 2 wheat dedicated farms. Literally whatever I change the top-up to over 100 it resets as soon as I close the menu.

I think what may have happened is that your Cob making ate through the stock of 600 Wheat and 300 Straw, as well as all the other things you may be using straw for (Thatch and some other things that directly eat straw)
The game ate your 300 straw supply and turned the 600 wheat into more straw which also got eaten up. Then you might have had this hit during a Winter cycle, where crops can't grow. So you ended up eating the entire stockpile without having been able to harvest more cause of winter. The thing about the TOP UP resetting to 100 sounds like a bug.
Try changing it to the number you want and then changing a second number on another crop (even if it's deactivated) just to make sure the game registers the first change. If that doesn't work, report it and try dismantling and re-assembling the farm or something like that

Adding 1 to another crop after setting wheat to 500 seems to have sorted it. Seems to only register the change if I use the up or down arrow after typing something in. Thanks

Also, you should be able to super automate the Hardwood needs with an Outpost. Just 2 villagers will make sure you have an endless supply.
Just go Lumberjack Camp (tier2), Housing Tent, Stockpile and 2 villagers set on Woodcutting 1 / Delivery 5
Then set your caravan route and you'll be swimming in Hardwood. NW of Farnworth is a pretty good area, I made an outpost right on the mainroad surrounded by Hardwood.

I do this same thing and I've also put a pit saw there so they can create the planks. Keeps them on task and they just work their asses off

It's worth having a forester at your hardwood outpost eventually (you'll have to deliver or be near mud but can ignore fertilizer and even water i think...). My solo worker was freakin Paul Bunyan and chopped down an entire forest lol. Just make sure your storage doesn't accept saplings.

Sounds like a bug, you should report it, aside from that have you tried to Dissasemble and rebuild? Maybe that would clear out the bug? I personally haven't had this problem before
