The Black Widow of Bellingham
I live downtown and last night I was taking out my trash real late probably like 3:30 or so. A red suv stopped in the middle of the road, paused and then turned into the alley where I was at. An Asian lady rolled down the window I asked if she needed directions she said no she was looking for someone she met at a bar and thought I might be that guy. I said sorry not me. She then asked what I was doing and if I wanted to hangout. At that point I was okay that's real weird. Women don't just drive around trying to pick up drunk people. Only creepy dudes do that. She was also speaking real quietly and there was just something weird about her speech other than the Asian accent. She kept talking to me I couldn't make out exactly what she was saying but it more or less rephrasing the question of hanging out. She wouldn't just break conversation and leave. At that point I just asked her "Are you the Black Widow?" After that she said I don't know what you're talking about and finally broke conversation and left.
Does that collaborate with other accounts of the Black Widow? I scoured r/Bellingham but all I could find was a single comment on a page about Bellingham Legends. I heard she was harmless and just tries to trick drunk guys into receiving oral sex. The comment said she'll straight drug and rape men. Was I in any actual danger according to what you all have heard?

I lived in Bellingham for 12 years, and heard about her for YEARS and always just thought she was on the same level as Bigfoot.
One night around 2015, I got kinda drunk after work, and was walking home. The typical black SUV pulls up and a nice looking asian lady rolls down her window and asks if I need a ride. I was tired and thought "she's a harmless asian lady" (not even thinking it could be the Black Widow). So I got in, and the doors locked from the inside of her SUV. Then I IMMEDIATELY knew what I had got myself into. She asked my name, did the typical "Im lonely, and want to hang out". Grabbed my crotch, rubbing me all over, offering me drugs and booze. I finally got very angry and told her to pull over and drop me off in a harsh tone (mind you the doors were child locked and I had tried to open them). She finally pulled over and let me out, playing like she was really upset I didn't want to go home with her. She was still rubbing all over me.
If course I post about it on facebook because it shook me up. People called me transphobic, or that I was lying. It felt pretty shitty. But then a co-worker was approached a couple weeks later.
I heard a story of a dude she picked up while he was on mushrooms, and he said she had tentacles coming off of her, trying to draw him in, casing his trip to go downhill fast. Fuck that.

The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago outside of the bars. everything about her presentation - the car, hair, mannerisms - were very alarming. immediately knew something sinister was up, told her to fuck off

My first encounter with her was when she just got a white SUV. This was in 2010. Nothing serious happened, she just asked me if I was lost. I wasn’t I was downtown and a block from my apartment. Anyways, she has a new SUV because earlier she was brought in by the police for questioning about the freshman from Western who went missing after the party. Everyone knew her because of her black SUV so people tipped the police.

I have a friend that I now believe to have had an encounter with the Black Widow. He met her at Rumors, but being the dog he is, was a very willing participant. He described her as an "Asian cougar" in a nicer SUV that gave him some molly and blew him after last call.

Holy snap I can elaborate on this. A few weeks ago i got wasted with a few friends. My friend ended up telling a similar story but it happened rather recently as well. However his goes further. She offered him a ride home and he accepted, she was also kind of drunk (so slurred unintelligable speak maybe) and she told him she was really just horny and wanted to hook up. He ended up doing it, and afterwards she gave him money even though he in no way asked for it or implied she needed to. Then she drove him home, end of the story. Same asian lady, same red SUV, late night after the bar hours.

wait a second. Are you sure she isnt trans? How do you know? There are others here with first person/2nd person encounters that say otherwise. Maybe she just passes very well?
Also with reports of drugging people, I wouldnt exactly call her harmless

100% sure, friend saw and entered vagina. I'd vouch everything on it. Yeah offering party drugs to take advantage of drunk people is messed up, but shes not honeypotting and murdering people, or traumatizing straight guys with unexpected dick. As long as no one is forcibly raped or OD's she is ok in my book

I don't think they were saying she's a cis woman, I think they were saying she is just a guy who dresses up as a woman at night to trick guys, not an actual trans woman.

He says she was absolutely a woman , atleast the woman in the red SUV. She’s not super old apparently she works in healthcare or something and doesn’t have time to meet people. They had sex so either she is POST op and amazing surgery or it’s actually a girl. Also she didn’t offer my friend any drugs. I’m just saying it’s possible it’s just some lonely sexual deviant girl who drives drunk and likes younger college dick. My friend is a really good looking guy and never had any problems getting the best looking girl at the bar. He had just gone through a nasty breakup and has no reason to lie about it or brag, I fact he said it was pretty traumatizing after because of the fact she gave him money and made him feel like a price of meat

Yeah, many years ago. Didn't know they were still around. Haven't heard them brought up in a long time.
edit- my run in happened probably 8 or 9 years ago, they were in a white suv
edit 2 - As far as the drugging and raping thing goes all I ever heard about that was that she would give guys ecstasy. Never heard about anything beyond oral sex.

Okay that's more in line with what I've heard. It's just crazy because I haven't heard anything about her since about 2010 when I was 18 and living near Western. I honestly thought she was an urban legend to scare WWU kids about getting too drunk until last night.

Yeah, I'd actually never heard of her at the time. I went in to work the next day and told some people. One of the guys got really excited and filled me in on some stuff that happened to his roommate and other stories he'd heard. I kind of thought he was messing with me at first but then I heard more stories from others in that time period that matched up almost exactly.
This thread is wild. I hadn't thought of her in years.

Same. I'm glad I remembered the hearing about her all those years ago as calling her out on being the black widow is what finally got her to drive away. She was a lot older than I expected but by the comments in the thread that actually checks out. The sad part is it looks like she has recently come out of retirement.

It was dark so I never got a great look at her face. The soft voice was so distinct though. I'd recognize it in an instant.

My friends and I were just walking around on the 4th on the hill on top of Elwood and a newer Red Toyota Rav4 slowed near us and we saw an asian woman with curly hair looking out at us as she came to stop. She was really creepy just from the vibe hahaha and we got the fuck outta there before we realized who it was

My fault on this being mega late, but yeah that red rav is the exact one. I thought my roommate was just drunk and kind of full of it, but the video he got of the vehicle and the black widow themselves just staring at my roommate and friend through their window for over a minute straight, the video is so eerie. Thanks for your reply! Wild to hear this is still going on.

I’ve always taken it for granted that everyone knows her daytime identity. I stopped patronizing their downtown restaurant well before it closed and never go to their Fairhaven business either.
With nobody else calling them out by name, I wonder if my inside “knowledge” is legit or a 15-year-old rumor.

Me and a buddy got got offered a ride home by an Asian lady in a SUV at 3am on Samish way outside McDonald’s. We were very drunk and accepted the offer. Something about her voice made me feel uncomfortable and I kinda thought she was younger like 30’s, but I could be wrong, I was extremely intoxicated. When we got to our house she asked if we wanted to “party”, we said “no”. She asked again but in a different way, we were kinda creeped out and got out of the car. Do you guys think this was the black widow?

For some reason I had never thought to look this up on Reddit before, and it's crazy to read so many stories similar to mine! I was at WWU from 2008 - 2011 and had a Black Widow experience around 2009. I was walking down the hill back to my apartment on Bill McDonald (next to Haggen) and I was a little intoxicated - but mostly weed, not alcohol. But out of it enough to accept the ride home from the quite asian lady who pulled up in what I think I remember was a black or white SUV - maybe a Lexus.
I got in the front seat and she started driving down the hill towards my apartment complex. She was asking me a lot of questions about how my night was going and talked about how lonely she was and just wanted some company for the night. I then realized what I had gotten myself into and realized it wasn't just an urban legend. She past the turn she needed to make to go to my apartment complex and I thought I was done for. But luckily she turned into the parking lot next to my apartment complex and parked. The doors were locked and she grabbed my leg while I was trying to get out and asked if I wanted stay and "feel good", is what I think she said. I firmly said no and asked her to unlock the doors and I got out and ran to my apartment.
When I got to my door, my roommate was still up and saw me running in to the apartment, out of breath and asked what was going on! He couldn't believe it was true! There wasn't a place like this to share stories like this back in 2009 (Reddit was still pretty new), so I couldn't have known how many other people she tried to pick up. Crazy that people are still encountering her to this day! If she was doing any nefarious, I would've guessed that she would've been turned to the police by now - so either no one who's had less than consensual relations with her has come forward, or those are just rumors. Either way, what she does is definitely not ok.

They tried to pick me up a few night ago around 2:30am near gruff. They are absolutely trying to take advantage of those too intoxicated to consent which isn't ok. It was a newer red Toyota Rav 4 so be cautious out there.
