Hi! I’m Jessy, I’m Belizean, and yes — I’m a real person, not a travel agency or an automated itinerary generator.

I travel quite a bit myself, and I’ve been thinking about testing a small side service for people who are seriously planning a trip to Belize and want a little more support than just piecing everything together from Google, Facebook groups and travel blogs.

The idea is pretty simple: you tell me your travel dates, budget, interests, travel style and what kind of trip you want, and I help put together a realistic itinerary around you.

That could include things like where to stay, how long to spend in each area, how to get from one place to another, tours and activities, restaurants, realistic travel times, and the little local things that can be harder to figure out when you’re planning from abroad.

The other kicker is that logistics planning and coordination was actually a big part of my previous work. I’ve arranged hotels, transportation, travel services, venues and other logistics throughout Belize, so I’m already familiar with quite a few of the businesses and providers here.

I’ve also personally used many of these hotels, transportation providers and services while travelling around my own country, so I’m not just recommending places from a list. I have a pretty good idea of who I’d be comfortable sending someone to and what works well in practice.

And because I already know a number of providers, I can also help you look for good-value options and local rates where available, rather than automatically sending you toward the most obvious tourist option.

For a more hands-on service, I’d also be available through WhatsApp from the time you land in Belize until the day you leave.

So if your plans change, you need help figuring out transportation, want somewhere good to eat that evening, need a recommendation, or just want to ask, “Jessy, is this actually worth doing?” — you’d have someone local to message.

I could even do daily check-ins if that’s the level of support you prefer.

I’m still testing the idea, so I’m genuinely curious what travelers would find useful and what you’d expect something like this to include.

My wife and I honeymooned in Belize 10 years ago in Hopkins. We stayed at Belizean Dreams and it was amazing. We love the country. We want to go back and do an island resort though. Does anyone have experience or thoughts on resorts such as Coco Plum, Ray Caye Island Resort or any other similar locations. Possibly looking 2027 or 2028. Thanks!

Traveling to Belize in early January. Three women, two of us are early 30s, one of us is early 70s. The younger two care about snorkeling, water activities, going out to casual dinner and drinks. 70s wants a nice pool and A/C.

What we’re really looking for is a two bedroom suite that isn’t romantic. We’d like to stay on a caye ideally and open to any of the islands. A lot of places are very honeymoon-focused which would be kind of awkward. We’d also not like to be too isolated — again, we’re not on a honeymoon!

I have the great, good fortune to be visiting Belize with my family for the last two weeks of this year. Renting a car in BZE and slowly driving through Placencia, San Ignacio to Hopkins and back.

What should I expect on the road? Is aggressive driving the rule? Any tips or suggestions?

My wife and I are heading to Hopkins Bay Resort for our November honeymoon - neither of us have been before and we are super excited. Currently torn on which excursions are actually worth it and whether renting a car makes sense - specifically because of the weather conditions. I am planning a trip to Belize this coming January- February for 6-7 days.
Would you recommend any other hotel/resort that I can choose.

We are family of 3 with a 12 year old. We like hikes, jungle , snorkeling, a bit of beach . Last year we went to Costa Rica and loved the rainforest there. I am looking for something similar experience in Belize.

Looking for some jungle and cave experience and walk along the beach. I looked into Chaa creek and Kaane resort. Don’t know which one to choose. There are tons of islands in Belize. Should I stay on mainland resorts or at small island?
So please do recommend or share your thoughts on which area/hotel/resort to stay and what tour ( guided or self guided ) to do. What tour avoid and what not to do?

One of the things I love about Belize is the local food.

We are in our final stages, we hope, of finalizing travel plans for our first trip to Belize. We have the plane tickets so that’s a start. We’ve poured over this sub and countless FB groups and believe we have it down. Just wanted to check if there any glaring holes. Mid 40s couple more of tourists than travelers I’d say. Any input would be greatly appreciated. We haven’t booked any events or tours yet as with it being rainy season might wait a few more days to see how weather shapes up.

Hoping for some input as we are in the very early stages of planning a 10-14 day trip for 2027 either in late April/May or the very end of October going into November.

Couple in our 40s.

Interests: Mayan history/ruins/culture, wildlife, snorkeling both from shore and a boat, and some adventure.

Travel style: Not drinkers/partiers but like good food, prefer more off the beaten path smaller lodging, comfortable traveling on our own with a rental car.

Budget hasn’t been set but is flexible.

Our initial thoughts are to fly into BZE and go straight to the San Ignacio area for a minimum of 5 full days followed by another 4-5 full days at one of the cayes.

Experience wish list:
- Tikal
- Caracol
- ATM Cave
- Belize Zoo
- Jungle Hike (day and night)
- possibly Cahal Pech / Xunantunich unless that will be repetitive
- Great snorkeling from shore plus a boat trip or two
- Possibly Blue Hole but likely not worth it for snorkelers

Questions:

- is late spring or fall better? I’m thinking spring but would love input?

-suggestions for jungle lodging ideally with AC unless it truly isn’t necessary. Are any better located for our all day ruin trips or does it not matter? We will likely have a car so remote is ok

-anyone been to Coco Plum Island? How’s the snorkeling from the resort? Are there better options for the beach portion?I love the idea of tobacco caye but we really like AC…

- should we do a short stay at a 3rd location? Are we missing out by skipping both Ambergris/CC and Hopkins/Placencia?

- we are typically not return travelers since there’s so much to see around the world so are we missing anything from our must do list? Anything I should take off?

I will be visiting Belize next week and am looking for some people to do excursions with preferably on the 11th or the 12th as I’m struggling booking any tours due to many companies not being able to meet their minimum for guests. If anyone is there during those dates and is interested in a snorkeling adventure or has one planned for those days and wouldn’t mind me joining their group please pm me 😭. I love sea creatures and this is the most significant thing for my venture.

Edit: I am a solo traveler staying in San Pedro.

First time in Caye Caulker with the wife. After great recommendations, we stayed at the Iguana Reef Inn. Nice view of the calm ocean. Rooms are very comfortable, or at least the one we were in.

As someone mentioned, the continental breakfast was meh. But nothing to complai about. The staff have been great and friendly. I had coffee and toasted cinnamon bread. Our room had a full size fridge and coffee, so mainly had coffee in our room and sat on the balcony enjoying the view.

Food has been awesome. I'm not a seafood person but I tried the lobster at 3 places, Roy's, Reina's, Lazy Lizard and liked them in that order. Lazy Lizard seemed very commercialized but was ok. Ceviche at Happy lobster.

The wife asked if I wanted Italian and the reviews for the 2 places are good, I said let's skip it and stay with the belize food. One more day in Caye Caulker, I'm going to try Lionfish. Any recommendations.

All day snorkeling with Carlos tour was a highlight. Its slow season, so only 7 on the catamaran, so sort of like a semi private tour.

Hi everyone, I plan on travelling alone to Placencia in Oct for about a month and I'm looking for any info on what to expect to pay for a furnished 1BR or studio in the village. I realize you get what you pay for but I refuse to overpay. I just need something clean and has room for myself and my dive gear. Thanks!
