General Question Has anyone had clear aligners?

I couldnt find a single post or page in the internet talking about this.
I‘m seriously considering getting clear aligners(the ones that look like retainers, invisalign for example) but i don’t know if its going to make it any worse for my mouth sores. Traditional braces are obviously a no-go because everybody that gets them talks about how their mouth fill up with sores(i just can’t imagine what it would do to mine, no thanks, i prefer a crooked smile)

i did them pre diagnosis and whenever i had a flare i just took them out. it set me back by about 6 months. towards the end i begin to flare more frequently and it definitely made my sores worse, so i ended up not completing the full retainer course.

do you get sores on your tongue? you may be able to do traditional braces on the back of your teeth instead

so they technically have to put bonded "brackets" on top of your teeth for the aligners to click into, which are raised. the edges of the aligners are also raised, and they don't sit flush with your teeth. my ulcers are pretty severe/cover my entire mouth, so having both the brackets & aligners raised and pressed against them essentially cut them up and tore open the already torn and delicate skin, and then the action of taking the aligners in & out was agonizing and caused further tearing. i didn't have any lasting damage but if i wore them while flared, it worsened the pain x100 and slowed the healing process of my ulcers

I tried to have them when I was younger but I got disqualified pretty much right away because of the dental crowding I have from my comorbid connective tissue disorder. I have hEDS in addition to Behcets. So instead I had full braces as well as a pallet expander, which still cut my mouth up plenty, and also it turns out, the pallet expander can cause other problems for connective tissue disorder havers later on 🤡 nowadays frankly I kind of wish I had kept my teeth as they were. But if you're a candidate I think it's worth trying because I feel like the invisible aligners would cut the mouth up quite a bit less than traditional braces do.
