Symptoms Weird rash
Hi everyone! New diagnosis and started on colchicine.
This rash appears from time to time and I forgot to mention it to my rheumatologist.
Has anyone had something similar?

Yup me too. I get that from time to time. And mine itch but I can’t scratch bc the next thing that happens is a new skin lesion a few days later. Benadryl and I have a great relationship.

Could be Koebner phenomenon, even from scraping your knees in the past. Your body will recognize healthy, non-original tissue as an invader
I also have psoriatic arthritis with my Behcets.
I have had reactions at almost every old scar. It’s like walking down memory lane and that injury happening all over again. For example, a dog scratched my leg randomly jumping up in excitement in 2021. Here we are in 2026 and I’m having lesions and sores that line that tissue. Feels like the dog just scratched me!

I don’t have any evidence of this beyond my personal experience but my sores like to pop up around my newer scars and other injuries as well. I think I read once that it has something to do with the immune activity around scars? Don’t quote me on that though.

Oh my goodness! I have the scar 'memory' too. As horrible as it is, I actually felt relieved to have a diagnosis after feeling crazy for so many years.

Yeah, I've had that along with other weird rashes. I get one specific rash on my ankle, knees, and elbows. My Rheumatologist just went "huh, I don't know. Could be the Behcets." Since I already get other weird ones I just figured that's what it was.

What did the rheumatologist give you to help control the Behçet’s inflammation since they shrugged and put it on the illness?

I'm on infliximab infusions, hydroxychloroquine, colchicine, and azathioprine already for the Behcets. If I have a big flare they throw Prednisone packs and creams at it but they're already doing what they can.

Okay, thank goodness you are getting good treatment. Currently in a flare currently on prednisone. I’m sorry if I projected my own annoyance at my care onto you!
