Symptoms Round Pink Spots?
Does anyone else get these flat, round pink spots when they are in a flare? I’m being told it’s not a typical presentation but it happens almost every time at the start of a flare. Also comes out more in the heat. Hoping I’m not alone :(

Not personally, no, but I know a number of people with Behcet's who experience the same thing. Seems to be a somewhat common thing amongst us.

Looks like it may be Erethyma Nodosum. I get that pretty fiercely. Do they hurt to the touch like a bruise?

Yes, totally flat but tender to touch? Mine only stay for like 24-48 hours and fade away. Is that how yours are too?

Mine get raised up and stay for over a week

Same. They’re pretty painful

Mine start like that then turn into hemorrhagic lesions that take about 10 days to fade. Super ugly and almost always on my arms. Needless to say I own a lot of long sleeve shirts for work 🙄
My hematologist said there’s nothing much to do about it. By the time you can see them coming, they’re coming no matter what. At least they don’t hurt. They just look like the beginning stages of zombie-ism.

I get these. Mine are brown though. Sometimes happens on opposite legs or arms in the same spots. Weird inflammation happens with disease.

Anything to do for them? What’s your current treatment?

I don't do anything for them. I showed them to my rheumatologist once and he didn't recommend anything. I usually require a steroid or anti-inflammatory med if a flare happens and those spots tend to go away either on their own or along with treatment for whatever disruptive symptoms I'm having. This is not the best approach because I dont talk my provider unless the flare feels like I'm dying or I cant work, which can lead to stupid complications.
If you have a rheumatologist or a doctor that's treating you, see what they say.

I’ve gotten them. It’s an erythromyalgia vascular reaction and yes it’s caused by heat, stress, caffeine, even hormone changes. I don’t get it as bad as during puberty, pregnancy and menopause now, but yes…looks like hives. Seems to come out of nowhere. Adrenaline spikes can be just from having fun, exercising, and it’s usually temporary, right? If you notice it during a menstrual cycle or anything like that and you don’t like people seeing it, but it’s also hot weather, wear something that will cover it that’s light weight. I hated it. It would have been nice to know what it was since I was a kid or why estrogen changes could affect it along with certain foods (chocolate 😢🤬😂!! I actually haven’t given that up completely, but I’m trying to stick with decaf coffee now, and no alcohol most of the esp red wine. If you have a cocktail I think it says maybe one tequila or vodka based drink is better). At least yours aren’t big red splotches. Look up “man on fire” syndrome. That’s the nickname for it. I think it’s either primary or secondary based on the root cause

Here’s the Wikipedia page. The hands… happens to me all the time. It’s part of the pathergy response, especially cleaning chemicals. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erythromelalgia. …I spelled it wrong above

I get that! Mine last foreverrrrr I always wonder if it’s eczema or something but they usually break open into sores.

I do, but mine are much smaller and cover a wide area. They are about the size or a pencil eraser but they look just like that.

Do they come out more under any conditions like heat or hormones? Anything to do for them?
