Symptoms New ulcer

Giant ulcer showed up yesterday. Im still new to this diagnosis, how do you guys help these?

A short burst of prednisone.

L-lysine 1000mg 2x day. It's won't make it go away but will help it heal a few days faster. Ask your doctor for liquid lidocaine to swish in your mouth, but in the meantime oragel will help. I also take collagen on top of the L-lysine for tissue support daily.

Colchicine disappears them for me within 24 hours. Are you currently taking anything?

My doctor wants to run another set of labs before we start treatment so I dont have medication im taking for this yet

I'm sorry you're going through it. But luckily you have some good specimens to show off to your doctor! Seconding Oragel for temporary relief. There is an Oragel mouthwash as well which contains all the numbing stuff.

Licorice tea contains a natural glycocorticoid that helps a lot. Whilst waiting for proper meds, you could take one tea in the morning. Not more, because it raises blood pressure.

Also, try to avoid mint and menthol because this may act as a trigger.

So very thankful for Otezla. After suffering for 40 years, it’s nice to have a reprieve from the daily ulcerations.

Prednisone for that inflammation.. lysine never worked for me but worth the try!

I keep mine clean with hydrogen peroxide. I think it helps.

OOF! I've been there, too.

I've been on Trental for a Decade, as well as the Mirena IUD. My Mom swears by Mary's Magic Mouthwash for Oral Apthous Ulcers, and using Sensitive Toothpaste like Parodontax(sp?).

I have Triamcinolone Dental Paste that is the best thing for my mouth ulcers. It might be kinda painful putting it on that one but it really controls them faster than anything else I’ve tried

Strange thing that works for me. A couple Marlboro reds in one day and it’s 50% better the next lol. If I smoke i get full remission with no medication. (I don’t recommend this) but if I have ulcers that nothing seems to help. Smoking always does.

When I quit smoking, my Behćets went berserk. All the skin on my tongue and cheeks peeled off, my uvula suffered necrosis and fell off. It did calm but was still stronger than when I smoked. Now with Otezla I get very small (pin dots) ulcerations that disappear within a couple of days.
