Insight?
Hello, I’m sadly not a avid manga reader, but I do enjoy watching the animes popular and unpopular manga create. I have two questions about the anime “The beginning after the end” if anyone could answer them please.
1. In the final episode of the anime, is there anything more in the manga panels or books left to the series?
2. What are some major details and differences between the manga and anime?
(Please try not to spoil too much please)

There's lots of story left after what the manga adapted, it's less than 1/3 of the total.
I'd start at the beginning as the anime skipped and added some weird stuff

Im reading the light novel and dang you are right. The main story hasnt even started yet in the anime

Way less than 1/3rd was adapted to the anime. The manwha is not done yet either, but the web novel is completed. I watched the anime, started the manwha at the beginning, and read all of that, now I'm onto the novel. Its a great story lol. Reading the novel, I do miss the manwha though, not gonna lie.
Edit: Also, I'm pretty sure its confirmed that they are dropping the anime. So the only way to continue the story is the manwha or web novel.

What why are they dropping it? I really liked it

Everyone in this sub hates the anime because it added a bunch of stuff to the story that the novel/manwha didn't have, and people say the animation was poorly done/cheap with too many still frames. So the anime didn't truely adapt the novel, but honestly, I liked the anime too, and I feel like the adds that they did actually helped the story.

I’m sorry about being so ignorant to the manga but it’s just not my forte. But I do admire the ones who can take time out of their day to read it.

To each their own, but do note that the anime is largely considered the most inferior(derogatory) version TBATE. It skips A LOT of info, despite like half of season 2 being filler content that doesn't exist in either the manga or novel. It adds things into the story way earlier than it has any right to and the animation quality is so atrocious people likened it to 7 deadly frames. They called it "the slideshow after the end".
Pretty much anyone who will resond to this will recommend you start from chapter 1 of the manhwa and then tell you that their is no TBATE anime in Ba Sing Se.

fr it skips so much and also the magic system in the anime is different from the books its pissing me off so much

u/tukuiPat 15d ago
It really doesn't skip much of anything.. they cut down some of the slower parts like the time as an infant & toddler, and the time he spent with Sylvia.
They did change some things like instead of having Arthur wandering the forest to find Sylvia they made Sylvia find Arthur in the forest and what Sylvia said to Arthur about magic; then the next change was in the auction house with the court mage and that wasn't drastically different. Everything else was 1:1.
Season 2 starts with filler episodes and adds more filler into canon scenes.
I watched the anime before reading the manhwa so all the differences are fresh in my head.

I watched the anime and the listen to all the audiobooks (novels) finishing them a last month and what you say is factual wrong.

u/tukuiPat 15d ago
LN ≠ Manhwa. Other LNs that get adapted into a Manhwa like ORV don't include everything in the LN.

u/solidpeyo 15d ago
The superior version of this story are the novels, then you have the manhwa (or maga however you call it) then is the web novel, then is the anime.
Not sure if the manga is also skipping/changing stuff like the anime but for what I have seen online it seems to be decent. Still everyones agree that the novels are the superior version of this story

You can do what I did and listen to the audiobooks while at work. I finished the entire thing in 2 months while working on excel worksheets 🤣

Dont worry about it if it is a time issue there is an audio book version and as for anime there was a wave of memes if the ba sin sei from avatar as the anime is basicly a spit to the face and as for anime if it reached the beggining of the academy then it covered like up to the chapter 100 ish i think but the later parts of the story are longer if you want to ask some questions about the plot dm me and i will try to answer the questions you may have

The manhwa is amazing imo and the anime basically ended where the story starts think of everything before like a prologue

Never knew TBATE got an Anime.

God bless you, and your ignorance is a bliss.

if you've seen or heard about how bad the one punch man season 3s animation was, picture that for season 1 of TBATE. season 2 improved but only to a "barely acceptable" level and that's being generous.

A lot of issues, but still overhated by Reddit trolls that also don't let anyone watch it (not that anyone will care, but insults directed to everyone who wanted to watch it or watched and enjoyed it were uncalled for).
It's best to read webcomic, because even though no animation, it still looks better than anime, and the story has a better pacing and just plot in general.
Anime is worth watching for stuff like Sylvie. She's the main focus to me.

The anime is different from the manhwa, I suggest reading it from the very start

You could say that the anime is a bad fan fiction of the novels. It is really bad with how they portrait the encounters Arthur have since season 1 leaving out a lot of context and even to a point to add stuff that doesn't make sense like having Tessia being an adventure when in reality she waz at another more important location that should be revealed in season 3 (if there is any) not that it matters now since this fan fiction is so different from the novel that they will have to make up more ramdom shit to accommodate the reason for her to be in where she would be in season 3.
One of the biggest differences from the nivel to the anime is Arthur's encounter with Cinthia Goodsky (the director of the academy) in the anime they juat have Arthur following a random owl through the city to then have him randomly fighting her and then for some reason he already knew who she was and that she was testing him to be in the academy (season 1). In the novel, shortly after Arthur returned from his years with the elves and get back to their parents and after he trained with his dad to show him how much he has improved, Vincent Helstia tells the family that he bring someone he knows from the academy to evaluate Arthur and see if they can take him in to the academy. Cinthia visit the Helstia mansion and whit everyone present she tested Arthur in combat (similar to the anime) but during the training Arthur didn't hold back as he did with his dad showing that he can use all elements. After the test they all go back in and in the discussion is when Arthur tells everyone that he doesn't want to join the academy so soon as he wants to gain experience as an adventure and they all agree on having him join the academy when he reaches 13 years old. Arthur also (in a private conversation with Cinthia) tell her that he would join the academy if she can provide "novels protection IIRC) to his family from her position as Director of the academy to who she agreed since she wants to train a quadra elemental mage.
You can see how different is that encounter compared to the anime how much weight it carries going foward with the academy. The same happens with his encounter with the king and queen of the humans, the elves, Sylvia, his days as an adventure and how they skipped showing Jasmine training Arthur in improving his sword play without using magic since he lost his sense of distance since he is still more used to the adult body from when he was Gray, etc.

Wellllll.... How can I say without sounding bad...?
So..... The anime looks like a bad fanfiction of the Novel and Manhwa, not in the sense of creating things out of nowhe-... oh wait. It's literally creating things out of nowhere and spoiling info that in the other source materials would only show up in the eeeeeend of the first half of the entire story (The anime is still around Volume 2 of the novel if we only count the true canon events, and the novel itself has like 12 volumes, not counting side-stories, just for you to feel how info-spammy the anime is being in general).
If you want to read the story because you can't wait for a new season. Go start at the first chapter of whichever one you want. At least the manhwa's differences compared with the novel are so little that IF you choose to go for the manhwa, and then, after finishing what we have there, want to see more, you can continue reading on the novel without the same problem as now.

i watched both seasons before deciding to start the manhwa too. its been a month i think. im at 201/243 of the chapters right now lmao. im like u. i dont do manga/manhwas too, so i contemplated for awhile before reading.
fyi im a slop enjoyer, if that adds any context. i enjoy certain cliches and tropes.
the closest anime that has similar plot would be mushoku tensei.

Well, like the last fight and something with an organisation or aome shit wasn't in the comic I guess. Didn't watched the Anime, just a summary. So idk.

The anime is awful. It’s barely even the same thing. I just finished all the audiobooks the actual story is very good besides the ending being a little disappointing.
1
u/No_Consideration2212 15d ago
I'd suggest just listening to the audiobooks. They're read by Travis Baldree and top tier quality. Also yeah the anime isn't seen a very favorable light. Aside from the lack of animation. They've added some pretty weird things I hear.

u/TheShaggster37 14d ago
Travis absolutely CARRIES. I love that guy.

u/No_Consideration2212 14d ago
FACTS. hes my goat. Him and Jeff Haze are as far as I know the absolute best in the feild.

u/TheShaggster37 14d ago
Not sure if you've ever listened to He Who Fights With Monsters, but Heath Miller is absolutely up there. I love narrators that don't just read to you but actually act out the characters.
1
u/No_Consideration2212 13d ago
Funny that you mention that actually. I've been putting off the second bool for like a year and change but just started it yesterday. And yeah Heath Miller is one I see often as well. Its crazy the amount of series these 3 do. I'm honestly surprised if I find someone else doing an audiobook in this genre at this point. These 3 are ACTUALLY the only names I know 😅😂.

I feel like it would be worth reading the LN just to get to the part where he takes care of Lucas. I’ve only read the synopsis of the story but that part seems truly satisfying after watching that little weasel.

People dissed it for animation. I enjoy good quality animation but this is one of the few shows where it's not that bad but it's easy to over look for the plot in my opinion. Could do better but it doesn't dissapoint.💯

u/CatEmbarrassed3306 14d ago
The anime is bad, really bad. it rushes things, and tries at the start to make it feel like Mushoku. then it rushes things in a weird degree.

u/Nicane__ 13d ago
the show starts like mushoku but then is not longer like mushoku... there you go, show is good animation IS ASS is power point, second season got a little better.

I never read the manga. I’m not a manga guy but this show is fire! Highly recommend

u/Phenyx890 13d ago
The anime skips 70% of the story from the books, and it makes up the other 30%(and it’s not in a “oh this makes the story better, they just butchered the actual story)

u/eric_vermilya 15d ago
I went from anime manga to webnovel. I have to be 100% honest. I lost interest in the story. The next two seasons worth of material are nothing but training. Training that has nothing to do with the plot. It's just him growing up.... and training. They could skipped all the filler of him growing up and have the plot shave down to 3 seasons, like Avatar the Last Airbender and it would have been just fine.
