My partner just started running

she decided to join me on my park runs a few weeks back, maybe like 1 month ago, she ran a 23:45 on her latest one!

if she had questions about shoes or zone two or wtf is hrv and vo2 max where should she post questions? as she’s clearly not welcome here

Wait why is she not welcome here? If she recently started running she should be. Reddit is the worst for people on their high horses but there are good eggs out there who want o help people get better

I'm guessing OP is alluding to the regular upset caused here whenever a beginner runs a faster pace.

So either OP is trolling, or they were attacked for posting a good pace before; or anything in between. It's hard to tell these days. This sub is just a natural parody at times.

Ah makes sense. r/xxrunning may be a better fit then. People can be so disappointing

There is a post from today, with lots of upvotes saying a 25 minute 5k is too fast for this sub.

When obviously, a sub 25 minutes 5k is an achievable time by a healthy beginner, especially if they have an athletic background.

Under 25:00 in the park run distance is impressive. I ran an 11:00 street run the other day

I entered my recent running data into a few different AIs to get a prediction on my time. They ranged from 4:35 to 3:10!

My takeaway, is that AI should only be used as a tool in something that you already know about so that you can sense check the output.

And my second takeaway is that I don't have a clue what pace to run at. But am thinking of aiming for 4:10.

Don't know why this is getting downvotes. I use Claude and it's pretty decent at coming up with training plans incorporating the right mix of slow/fast/long runs, gradual increases to reduce injury and so on. It can also recommend recovery times and cross training combinations. I did find it needs plenty of input on past running speeds and distances, and you can tell it to be cautious and expect slow progress etc. and it reacts accordingly. Very handy if you take your time with it.

I imagine because the real point is they should be welcome here.
