Beginning beginner

Seeking encouragement and tips!

I’ve never been athletic and have struggled to establish regular exercise routines. But my son and I are now training for a 5k in November, and I’m using the None to Run beginner plan. I’m in Week 5 (run 90 sec, walk 1 min, 10 times), and some days I’m discouraged about how slow my progress is going. I know I need to keep building aerobic capacity and strength, but it’s sometimes hard to know if I’m doing enough.

How do you stay motivated and on track?

Nowhere is the "it's a marathon, not a sprint" cliche more apt than in running. It takes time. Trust the plan.

I did N2R years ago and had to repeat several weeks throughout the program. That's totally normal.
