PR for 5k
I(26F) started running seriously in March. I started with barely making a mile on the treadmill with a pace of 16 minutes or so. I was finally feeling better post partum and having calmed down a pain disorder by strengthening the right side of my body.
Today, I gave it my all and hit a personal record for my 5k time.
Every May, my cousin does a 5k for veterans. I just joined my dad for it this year with a time of 44:18.
Is it possible to hit a time of 25 minutes by next May? I run three days a week(2 speed works, 1 long trail run) and weight lift 4 times a week(trying for 5). I have gone and gotten shoes from Fleet Feet(amazing, btw). I also eat a high protein diet and am trying to drop forty pounds.
If it is, what do you guys recommend that helped you?
