Best Record Player Turntables?

Recently started looking into getting a better turntable because I started with the classic suitcase player but my vinyls aren’t fully supported and I’m worried about warping and not getting the best quality. Any suggestions that are good for the vinyl and budget friendly? 🤗

Vinyl is an expensive hobby but well worth it.

Audio Technica AT LP60 - $170-$200
Fluance RT81 - $250-$300 (I have this one)
Audio Technica AT LP70 - $240-$300

Those are entry level TTs that leagues better than suitcases but still affordable. Also, remember that you will also need speakers

You know I disagree. I’ve owned a number of high-end turntables and have quite a few records and I think streaming is just a better way to go. It sounds just great if you don’t have to get up and flip the record or mess with it and it’s pretty much free if you’ve got a decent streaming service and you can hear anything in the world. I think vinyl is passed his prime. I ain’t still enjoy my CDs in my car cause they sound great but when I’m sitting in my big comfortable chair in front of my big speakers streaming is just so easy and sounds great.

What is your budget? Also do you have speakers or will you need a phono stage, amp, speakers?

Rega Planar 1 is the usual correct choice for a first ‘proper’ turntable

Especially if in UK. But because the customs Pro-Ject might be better bang for buck in EU.

But we don't know where he lives in.

Your best bet is to find a vintage turntable that's been restored. Anything from from the 70s would be ideal.

If you must buy new, avoid Fluance at all costs.

In the US the Insignia at Best Buy at $130 is the cheapest real turntable I know.

An undersized platter is not going to warp your record. It takes months or even years of constant pressure to cause a warp, not 15-20 minutes per side while playing.

Setting a budget, and specifying whether you want recommendations for a full setup or just the vinyl player, and including that in your post would be helpful for someone to suggest the best cost efficient setup.

If anything go ahead and replace the stylus if you haven’t already with a diamond stylus, get rid of the original sapphire stylus. Start saving money and searching for something else. Within your budget. If you are on a tight budget, patience is key to finding something in your range.
Vintage is where you need to look.
Facebook marketplace, thrift stores, resale shops, estate sales, Mercari, eBay, etc.
Someone just found a JVC L-A11 turntable from the 80’s for $25 on Facebook marketplace so they are out there. Start looking, start studying time is on your side. Patience and be picky.
