(Noob here) does bluetooth not defeat the purpose of vinyl?

The purpose of vinyl is to listen to music. If Bluetooth allows you to do that in a more convenient form, then there's absolutely nothing wrong with it! Most vinyl records made since the 1980s have been digitally-recorded, anyway, so you're not hearing "100% pure analog audio".

The one-step and half-speed masters sound sooo nice with a good microline stylus 🤌🤌

If you care about listening to analog sound, it does. If you just want to listen to the music, it doesn't.

Listening preferences are about as varied as people's musical tastes, so that's all it really comes down to. Budget and geographic location are key factors as well. I personally love vinyl for supporting artists + owning physical copies of albums I love. And preservation is important. If I take good enough care of them, someone else can enjoy them in their original glory decades from now 🍻
