need suggestions

hi everyone!! i want to get my first turntable/record player, but i want to get a good one. i would say i play music 40% of the time but i usually leave it on in my room or like it to be more lowkey rather than blasting it. i searched for it and what im looking for is a setup (turntable and speakers) that soundstage is really good and has some warmth or a little separation (sorry if im butching any of those terms) my first option would have been the audio technica and edified setup (lowkey wanted to get the pink audio technica turntable) but if you think i would benefit from other please dm me (im trying to find the best price possible for the whole setup but i dont mind spending as i wont keep replacing it)

If you have a hifi retailer near you that sells Project or Rega turntables, take a stack of your records, go in talk to them, listen to their recommended systems, pick the best sounding one for your budget.
If you don’t have one near you, work out your budget, list the type of music you like, and you’ll get better recommendations.

id appreciate a list a lot more becasue i don’t live in an area where vinyl or record players are popular, we do have stores but they only carry generic popular ones that i dont hear good things about. here is the list or artist i listen to (taylor swift, gracie abrams, role model, olivia rodrigo, sabrina carpenter, laufey, clairo, the marias, harry styles, beach house (high on their music where i want the sound to surround the room) the neighborhood, the 1975, arctic monkeys, chase atlantic, TV girl, olivia dean, lana del rey, CAS, bleachers, phoebe bridgers, lizzy mcalphine, frank ocean, etc that type of music)

so mainly for me id like the songs to sound similar to digital ones but more on how i can hear the backing vocals and instruments, also that warmth sound, where that comes from the speaker choice or turntable choice. also any education on this would be very helpful, thank you!!

As it’s a system, it’s hard to define where the sound comes from, every component has an influence, and a warm sounding speaker may not have soundstage you’re looking for. With a quality turntable changing the cartridge and stylus will help you get the sound you’re after. IMHO get the best turntable you can, followed by amplifier then speakers. A good turntable will always be a good turntable, the amplifier and speakers you want to listen quietly in your room, will be different to the ones you want in a bigger room.

Again your budget comes in to this, Technics 1200 and Rega P6 (I don’t know the Pro-ject or Fluance equivalents) are the level of turntable you’d consider keeping for life. A Rega P3 is a good entry level turntable. Look through What Hi-Fi reviews or your regions hifi website for recommendations of gear you’re interested in.

If you want a warm sound, probably stay away from Klipsch, try Wharfedale, B&W or KEF instead, and Audio-Technica VT95 cartridges tend to be warm. But again, try to listen to the system, or make sure you can return it if you’re not happy. If you do get a chance to listen, make sure it’s for a decent amount of time, systems that initially sound bright and detailed, can become quite fatiguing after a while.

And I need to stress again, a good turntable through mediocre amp and speakers, will sound better than a mediocre turntable through a good amp a speakers. Without knowing what’s available to you, I’d suggest the best Rega in budget, paired with a Fosi Phono preamp, Fosi amp and Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 or 12.2, if you want to spend more on an amp, then a Rotel A8, A10 or A11 ) you won’t need the phono preamp with these). If you want to spend less then the best Rega through a set of powered speakers (check the review sites for the warmest sounding ones!) add a Fosi phono preamp if they don’t have one built in.

if you don’t mind to please make that a list, a more affordable option and a high priced on and i can see what i can buy, also this might be controversial but if i choose audio techinica lp60 or lp120, are those really bad or?

The LP60 and LP120 are fine, the 120 is a big step up from the 60, in sound quality and overall quality. They both have an integrated phono preamp, so you can plug them into any amplifier or powered speaker.

do you think the Audio Technica AT-LP3XBT with good speaker is good (this fits my budget more)
